It's been a couple of days since Evelynn and I had hung out. I've been waiting to see if she texts me so we can meet up again, but I haven't received anything yet. I've thought about texting her first, but seeing as I put our lives at risk the last time I took charge, I decided it's best to let her make the first move this time.

In that time, Jayce has been spending most of his time holed up in the workshop on campus. He said something about doing some modifications on his hammer. I only see him when he comes back to the dorm to take a shower or to briefly eat something. Hope it's all going well for him because we're gonna need some major power pretty soon.

I've also run into Kai'Sa occasionally. She's still settling in bit by bit, and surprisingly, her roommate still hasn't shown up. Our talks are typically short since one of us always seems to be busy now that classes are beginning. I'll try to see if we can hang out sometime just to help her get more comfortable here at the academy.

Speaking of which, classes have officially started as of yesterday. The beginning of the school year also means the beginning of more class representative duties for me. Among the many new responsibilities I have now are the mandatory weekly meetings. Which I'm heading to right now.

I walk into the student association building and notice a familiar face sitting behind the front desk.

Y/N: Sett? They got you working the front desk here?

Sett: Hey, Y/N. Yeah, but it's not just me. Lux is supposed to be here with me.

Then, almost as if on cue, Lux comes rushing in through the door.

Lux: Sorry I'm late! I had to stay a bit after class to speak to a professor about a grade he gave me on a quiz.

She makes her way to the back of the desk slightly out of breath. When she takes her seat, Sett turns around to look at her with a confused expression.

Sett: A quiz? We're barely on day three of the semester.

Y/N: Yeah, what kind of professor did you get?

Lux: Dr. Ryze. He's number one right now in the arcane field, and I thought I could learn a lot from him by taking his class. I'm starting to think I may be in over my head here.

Y/N: I've heard stories about Dr. Ryze, not all of them were pleasant, to say the least. But if there's anyone to learn the arcane arts from, it's him. Besides, I wouldn't worry too much about it if I were you.

Lux: How come?

Y/N: Because you're ridiculously smart. You'll ace his class, no problem.

Lux: Thanks Y/N, I appreciate the vote of confidence. Anywho, don't take this the wrong way, but what are you doing here?

Sett: I think I can answer that for him. You're here for the student council meeting, right, class rep?

Lux: That's right, I forgot you were one of the class reps this year. Congrats again on that, by the way.

Y/N Thanks, and yeah, I got a meeting to get to.

Sett: Cool, just scan in, and you're all clear.

I nod, pull out my ID from my wallet, and scan it on the little machine on top of the desk until I hear a beep.

Lux: Alright, you're all set. Good luck.

Sett: You better hurry though. Some chick came here a few minutes before you did. She might be waiting for you up there already.

Y/N: Was it Ahri?

Sett: No, some other girl. Didn't get a good look at her when she walked in. She just scanned in and made her way upstairs.

It wasn't Ahri? Who else could it be then?

Lux: What do you mean you didn't get a good look at her? Our whole job is to make sure no one unauthorized gets past us.

Sett: Admittedly, I was on my phone for a bit. But she scanned in with no issues, so I figured it wasn't a big deal.

Lux: Unbelievable.

Y/N: So, it's just one other person that got here before me?

Sett: Yup, just the one

Y/N: Alright, I guess I'll go say hi then.

I walk away from the front desk and begin making my way up the stairs to the third floor of the building where the meeting room is. When I entered the room, I noticed the large, round wooden table at the center of the room with several chairs placed around it. Along two of the walls are a few file cabinets and standard student desks. Another one of the walls is one giant chalkboard, while the other is just a set of closets.

By the chalkboard wall, I see the girl that Sett must've been referring to. She didn't turn around when I walked in or when I set my backpack down on the table. Instead, she seems too focused on drawing something on the board. I make my way towards the board before stopping a few feet behind her.

Y/N: Hey there. Who might you be?

???: Names Akali, and you must be Y/N.

Y/N: Right, mind telling me what you're doing in the student council room?

Akali: Oh, did Ahri not tell you?

Y/N: Tell me what, exactly?

Ahri: I can answer that for you, Y/N.

I turn around and see that Ahri has already walked in. People have incredible timing today. Behind her walks in a guy that I don't recognize from our year.

Ahri: I've asked Akali and Ekko here to join us as part of the student council for this year. They're top of their class, and I thought they could provide a unique perspective on some matters. Plus, it'll give them some good experience for when they eventually take our places after we graduate.

The guy named Ekko walks around Ahri and approaches me. Once he reaches me, he extends his hand out for me to shake, and I do so. I pull back my hand first and look down at him slightly since I'm taller.

Ekko: Ahri already said it, but I'm Ekko. Nice to meet you, Y/N. This is embarrassing to admit, but I'm kinda a fan.

Y/N: A fan, huh?

Ekko: Yeah, the way you dominated last year's practical exams was mind-blowing. You got some serious firepower, dude!

The practical exams are recorded and broadcasted around campus for a multitude of reasons. One is so the administrative staff has logs on the students to properly assess them and track their progress during their time here. Another is for pure entertainment. The academy doesn't have any sort of traditional sports teams, so our practical exams are broadcasted instead as a sort of substitution. People seem to really enjoy them too, myself included. And from what I've heard, there are plans to go even bigger this year thanks to the huge popularity of some students and generous funding from donors.

Akali: He wasn't the only one who was impressed. Seeing how you and the other people in your year handled yourselves out there made me want to improve my skills even more.

She leaves the chalkboard wall and takes a seat at the table next to Ahri, who is already seated.

Ahri: Right then, now that introductions are out of the way, let's start the meeting, shall we?

Ekko takes a seat before I do, and I end up sitting next to Ahri. Ahri begins by laying out the agenda for the meeting, and as she does, my eyes wander back to the chalkboard Akali was drawing on. On it, I see a sketched outline of what I assume to be some sort of dragon. She might not have gotten to finish it, but it's still very impressive given the short amount of time she had. She's got some major artistic talent.
