Please, please don't do it. Just stop before it's too late. You don't know what you're about to do, Y/N.
I'm in the basement again, like I am every night. But it's different this time. Rather than reliving the whole event as per usual, I'm witnessing it all like a fly on the wall.
My younger self reaches out and places his hand on the metallic sphere my dad had been working on. The "masterpiece" that ruined our lives. I attempt to reach out to try and prevent what's about to happen, but every step feels impossibly difficult. Every slight move I make is a struggle, even when just trying to lift my hand.
I see my dad activate the sphere, knowing that the death of my parents is about to happen and that there's nothing I can do about it. In a feeling of utter helplessness, I turn away from the device and stare at the basement door. That's when I saw something for the first time, my mother walking in on the upcoming disaster. Why is she down here? I always thought she was upstairs when the device exploded, that she got caught in the blast radius. What the hell is-
Mom: What's going on down here!?
She quickly takes notice that something isn't right as she looks between my dad and I. I try even harder to move, to keep her away, but it's still a useless effort.
No, mom, please turn back. For the love of everything, get out. You shouldn't be here.
My pleas fall on deaf ears. As my mom runs towards me and my dad, the device we were holding bursts out with its built-up energy. Before the energy could fully engulf everything, I noticed my mother's horrified face while reaching out a hand to me. I see tears running down my face as bolts of artificial lightning strike my young self. And then I look over at my father, who has a smile on his face despite his body being disintegrated.
When I woke up, I found myself lying on a couch in what was very clearly not my dorm room. I tried sitting up but was quickly stopped by the aching pain across my body. Why am I in so much pain?
Evelynn: So, you're finally up, too?
Shit, that's right, Evelynn and I had a fight. Did I lose?
When she walked in, she was wearing some black leggings with bandages wrapped around most of her upper body. There were some minor cuts on her face, but those seemed to have mostly healed by now. Other than that, Evelynn looked just fine.
Y/N: So, I'm guessing I lost the bet?
Evelynn: We both did. According to Ahri, we went a little overboard and knocked each other out.
It's all coming back to me now. The arena was getting destroyed. The two of us rushed towards each other. Then everything went dark.
Y/N: How long have I been out for?
Evelynn: I'm not too sure. I only came to like thirty minutes ago, give or take. Ahri didn't give me much of an explanation on what all went down before she left, but judging by that clock, maybe six hours?
Six hours!? I was supposed to meet Jayce for lunch shortly after my match with Evelynn. Once I explain what happened, he might understand. Even then, I'm still gonna feel shitty for ditching him like this. I gotta text him what happened.
Y/N: Where's my phone?
Evelynn: Behind you on that side table.
I turn around and reach over for my phone, but I'm stopped again by the pain.
Evelynn: You shouldn't be moving that much. I'll get it for you. Just lay back down for now.
She walks up to the side table and hands me my phone as she sits down on the couch with me. When I went to open it, I was met with a dead battery symbol flashing on my screen.
