Growing up in District 12 is the worst thing that can happen to a child of Panem.
In the capitol, and the wealthy districts, children sought the aprobation of their parents. In the intermediate districts, children sought to be useful to their paren...

The metal bench was ice cold as Christenson and I sat in our assigned spaces. There were still a few more districts left to arrive: 2, 4 and 11 were late. Not that they could punish them anyway. We were all dressed in the same clothing, a one suit with long sleeves different from the training one as this seemed to be off a thicker material which definitely didn't help the suffocation feeling that was coating the room.
After a few more minutes the last six tributes appeared with a Peacekeaper behind them. Mable and Granite held stoic expression upon their faces while Neera and Neptune held a tense expression on their face, I wondered what happened bewteen the careers. District 11 though had been visibly crying as their eyes were both puffy and red.
The tributes nerves filled the room we were all held into. No one had broken down yet but the boy from 3 and the girl from 7 were in the verge of tears, even before all chaos even started. It was going to be a very long morning for me as being the last out of the 24 tributes probably meant waiting for hours.
'Carson Hadley from District 1, please access evaluation' the huge blond whispered something in his sister's ear and went through the doors making the floor ripple with the heavy impact of each of his steps. After he left a few of the tributes started talking with eachother, Granite and Neera seem to be a nice conversation as Marble and Neptune didn't dare to say a word to eachother. Jamie and I started taking to Tana and Jake as they were the closest to us, we all wondered what was going on with careers. The younger Hadley hadn't taken her eyes out of the doors from which her brother had exited from completly ignoring her mates. In the Career Pack there was this weird dinamic, I guess we would have to wait and see. The automatic doors opened around fifteen minutes later and a smirk was plasted on the boys face which was immediatly replicated by the other twin.
'Cassandra Hadley from District 1, please access evaluation' the blonds hug briefly as she entered the room and he was scorted out to the elevator by Peacekeapers. Another fifteen minute later she exited with a similar grin onto her face.
'Granite Hudson from District 2, please access evaluation' the even bigger man went into the room not before turning around to look at the room one last time.
'Marble Winters from District 2, please access evaluation' the huge girl stood up and started clapping exicited. Exicited to show the 100 ways she could smash an innocent kids skull. Sickening.
'Ivan Moscovian from District 3, please access evaluation' he was trembling as he stood up and his knees buckled the second he tried to walk. Luckily Neera who was sat next to him catched him before he met the ground. Her face was stone cold but this behaviour was confusing to say the least. Wasn't she a volunteer? She should be merciless to everybody, why act nice if she is going to try and kill everyone the second we enter the Arena? Why did she bother? He looked baffled at her but her hard look didn't falter. He entered without saying anything else.
'Ashley Martinez from District 3, please access evaluation'
'Neptune Mars from District 4, please access evaluation' he said something to Neera which I only catch to be some words about something water, I guess he was doing something water related. For sure something risky but impressive if he is so sure it will give him a high mark.
