Y/n's P.O.V
"Chris, stop it." I whisper yell to Chris across the booth.
The guys and I are currently out right now grabbing a bit to eat. Chris as perusal is being a child.
"Seriously dude. Quit hitting the table." Matt adds, also being annoyed by Chris's behavior.
"What else has to be done to your house Y/n?" Nick asked me.
"Tomorrow, I have to go pick up the paint for the rooms and they are gonna be bringing my new toilet Friday." I tell him.
"I still can't believe you still pick a house that needed so much work done to it." Nick says.
"I like a project." I said shrugging my shoulders.
"You still wanting me to come over and help with the painting?" Chris asks me.
"Like I said, you are more than welcome to come and help me, but I don't want any penises on my walls." I tell him, sternly.
"You're no fun." Chris groans as he pours.
"Boo who." I said giggling.
We continue to eat our food, and once we were done, we decide to order desert. Once we finish up with desert we head back out to the van.
"Dawg I'm so full." Chris whines as he stretches out one arm and rubs his stomach with the other.
"I mean you did have three full plates." I said smiling and poking his side since I'm walking next.
"Hey! Stop." Chris says.
Chris then begins to tickle me before Nick calls out.
"Come on slow pokes. We got shit to do." Nick says before getting in the van.
Me and Chris make it to the van and get in. We buckle up and Matt pulls out of the restaurant parking lot.
"What colors did you pick out?" Matt asked me.
"I picked out this really simple beige for the living room. For the upstairs bathroom I picked out this really pretty teal color." I start to ramble on about the colors I have picked out for each room of the house when I notice something underneath one of the cars on the street. "I... Matt stop the car."
"What?" Matt says confused.
"Stop the car for a second." I said unbuckling myself.
I open the door and close it right back. I jog over to the car and squat down to get a better look. I start to hear little whimpers as my eyes laid their sight on a very small puppy.
"Hi there." I said softly not wanting to scare it, no more than what it already was.
I stand back up and walk over to the other side of the car that the puppy was closer to, plus to also get out of the middle of the road. I get back down and reach my hand to try and form a little bit of trust with the puppy.
"It's okay little one." I tell the puppy.
I just then remember the beef jerky that Chris asked me to hold for him in my back pocket. I pull out a piece and lay it close to the puppy. The puppy was hesitating but began to eat on the jerky. I smile as I got another piece out lay it down for the puppy, this time a little closer to me. The puppy walked slowly and started to munch on the jerky. I got out one more piece but instead of laying it down, I hold it in my hand.
The puppy slowly walked towards me and start to eat the jerky out of my hand. As the puppy was eating, I slowly start to pet its little head.
"It's nice to meet you." I tell it.
Surprisingly the puppy hops up into my lap. I smile as I stand back up with the puppy in my arms.
"There you are." I hear Chris say.
I look up and see Chris jogging down the sidewalk.
"Matt had to find parking a little ways up." Chris says pointing down the street. "Hey there little guy."
Chris leans down and starts to pet the puppy in my arms.
"Come on." I said beginning to walk up the sidewalk.
Chris and I walk back to the van and get back in.
"Oh my god." Nick says as he holds his hand over his heart. "It's a little puppy."
"That's why you had me stop the car?" Matt asked as he adjusts himself in his seat to get a better view of the puppy.
I look up at him and nodded my head.
"Is it a boy or a girl?" Nick asks as he reaches over and begins to pet it.
"Let me check." I said before lifting the puppy up to see if it's a boy or a girl. "It's a girl."
"What are you gonna do with her? Are you gonna drop her off at a shelter or are you gonna keep her?" Chris asks me, looking over his seat.
I thought about for a moment. I don't really have the time to take care of a puppy because of my busy ass schedule but at the same time, I absolutely hate shelters. They never give the animals the attention that they need and a lot of them are stuck there for years.
"I'm gonna... keep her." I smile looking down at the new addition to my family.
"Whatcha gonna name her?" Chris asks.
I look down at her and the name just came to me.
"Phoenix." I said.
