It has been two months of marriage between the two, things were slightly better, the rumours was still said, but tears had reduced, she was getting used to it, also her mother in law had reduced the way she spoke and her nasty behavior towards the girl.

If the girl had doubted that she was pregnant, her doubt had been made clear, she could already see and feel a slight bump on her stomach, she was indeed carrying a child.

The boy came home in the evening, they had dinner then he called on the family to discuss.

"What is this about?" His mother asked.

"I got into contact with one of my uncle who resides in the city, he had invited me to come over, there is a lot of opportunity over there, I have decided to go only for two months, when I come back if the results are good, I will take my wife with me and if it isn't I will continue to live here" he spoke.

"That is a good idea my son, I am glad you want to explore better opportunities" the mother said,

The wife was silent because she didn't want to complain in front of her mother in law.

When they were alone.

"Do you want to abandon me and your baby?"

"Do not say that, I could never do that"

"Then don't go, stay in the village, there are a lot of opportunities here as well" she said getting emotional,

"I know but over there is better, I will earn more to take care of all of us, you have to understand, your aunt advised that you should begin antenatal Clinics but you haven't started because we have no money but in the city, I will earn enough for the clinic"

"I do not care about that, I don't want you to go, please stay here, please" the girl grabbed his shirt, he hugged her as she cried.

"Everything will fall into place, if I go now, please understand" he pleaded with her and consoled her while she cried on his chest.

Three days later amidst tears from his wife the boy left to the city, immediately he arrived his uncle and his family welcomed him, he explained to them his situation, his uncle promised to help, the next day his uncle took him to a company where they manufactured Cement, his uncle had a connection with the manager of the place, the boy was accepted and given a job, he thanked the manager and especially his uncle.

He decided to work hard to earn a living, the wages for the work was paid weekly, his job was to carry bags of cement from the factory to the wholesalers or to the sites,

He continued working there, his uncle wife suggested that he gets a house for when he brings his wife, through the help of his uncle, he was able to rent a small apartment, where he lived and went to work from.

One day at the factory the managers daughter came to get truckloads of cements for a contract, the workers all greeted except one especially hot, shirtless guy who was onloading bags of cements into the truck, she was immediately fascinated by him.

She began visiting almost everyday to gain his attention but he was just working hard, eventually she started talking to him that was when he noticed her, even though she was trying to be friendly, he was cautious with her, she was his managers daughter, she was older than he was and he had a woman back home.

Meanwhile in the village the girl was taking care of the boy's house and family, she did all the house chores and began a business of selling groundnuts in the front of the compound,

His mother was secretly happy about the girl because before the girl came she did all the chores, boys were not allowed to do house chores in the village, she was relieved that she had someone to help who was earning a little as well, she eventually stopped physically abusing the girl and somewhere deep in her heart she started liking the girl, besides that her grand child was growing in the girl.

The girl missed her husband dearly, everyday she thought if him and every night she dreamed of him, the two months had elapsed but she had hope that he would come home, she placed her focus on taking care of the house and her husband's family.

Her family wanted nothing to do with her except her sister who visited regularly.

He spent his nineteenth birthday alone, in a city far from home, far from the people he loved, even though he was working hard for his family, he missed his only brother, his loving mother and especially his beautiful wife, he wanted to see them all.

So far, he had settled in the city, he had a few friends, he was in good terms with his neighbors, he lived in a small rented apartment, he had a job that fed him well, he decided that he needed to bring his family in.

Two weeks after his nineteenth birthday, he  spoke with his uncle, who agreed with him, then he made his journey back to the village.

When he arrived the compound with some villagers that he knew, his mother went to give him a hug.

"Oh my son, my dear son is back" she embraced him, showering him in praises.

"I am happy to be back" he said, noticing his girl, she was walking slowly to him and crying, she couldn't believe that it was him, the boy's heart started beating fast at the sight of his pregnant wife, quickly he ran to her and embraced her and she cried in his arms,

She looked at his face and felt it, felt his arms and his chest and burst into tears, she shamelessly kissed him, her lover, her husband was back.

The few villagers were filled with awe at this display of love, it turned into a rumor with so many tales as well.

The boy was welcomed home, he spent a week in the village before eventually leaving behind his mother and brother and everyone else, he left with his wife and unborn child.

Meanwhile his mother couldn't help but shed tears at the departure of the girl that she had began to consider daughter,she had been stubborn and refused to bid the girl goodbye but later that day, she cried for she would surely miss the girl.
