Night Shift

Part 2

Holden reached the office and began submitting the counts into the system while doing that he had his back turned to the door which was wide open and you see a shadowy figure fly past the door. Holden finishes up the counts before making his way to front end to stock liquor and smokes, once there Holden ran into Robby.

Robby said in a low tone "another day in paradise", Holden put on a fake laugh "haha" and said "sure is" before continue to front end. Looking over Holden shoulder, it was seen that Robby was again once staring with his lifeless eyes at Holden, all while Holden is unaware.

Holden reached the front end and began filling liquor, after about 15 minutes he heard the doors fly open and Holden turned around to see a man standing there with slicked back blonde hair, red suit and smirking grin.

Holden enquired "how may I help you today sir", the man spoke in a dark low eerie and ominous tone "I would like a bottle of rum and coke please", Holden asked to make conversation "party tonight" the man smiled and responded with "something like that, more of an reunion" after severing him, the man moved closer towards Holder, and leaned within reach of Holden's ears, speaking with the dark voice again, "you have a fun night Holden".

Holden always finds it weird when customers say his name, so Holden reached to take his name badge off, but then looked down in horror after seeing he wasn't wearing his name badge. Holden was overcome with feeling of dread, how did the man in the red suit know his name.

A few minutes went by, and so Holden went down stairs for his break, with a need to gather his mind after the unknown man somehow knew his name. Holden couldn't wrap his head around it.

Holden saw Fred making his way down stairs and asked if he knew the man in the red coat, Fred responded "oh yeah that guy comes in for rum and coke, he works up at the old school", Holden questioned out loud "I still don't understand how he knew my name" Fred unenthusiastically responded to Holden, stating he probably saw with your name tag on once.

Holden thought "maybe", Fred again spoke, but sarcastically joked "or maybe he's been watching the store for weeks learning your comings and goings just waiting for an opportunity to get yah", Fred laughed as he walked down the dark corridor, whilst Holden sat in disbelief.

Now Holden was more on edge than ever, he started making his way up stairs to do one of his final tasks before heading home. At the top of the stairs he was greeted by Tess, Holden tried to joke "almost home time, yay", Tess responded in a murky voice "maybe, we will see how the night goes".

Holden was more uncomfortable than before, practically running over to a section within the produce area, to finish his job and get out as soon as possible; complete the fresh cuts, fill the fruit display, cover the potatoes, once he did that he could go home.

Holden rushed getting the tasks done, once it was over he collected his bag and keys making his way to the front door, but as he walked, Ruby appeared, quickly holder said goodnight, but creepily, ruby turned around and grogged "your not leaving already, are you Holden?" holden looked around, "my shift is over" "over? but you will never leave here ha-ha, the company won't let us" Holden responded "well if the company wants to pay over time sure", Ruby's face went dead and Holden moved slowly back and turned sharply and quickly walked at a fast paced, bolting to the front end, however once reaching there Robby, Fred and Tess were all waiting there in a line.

Holden slowly approached and quietly asked if he could unlock the door so he could leave, Fred crooked and spoke "such thing typing in the code into the security lock to open the door", a noise emitting broke the silence, coming from the door.

BEEP

"oops wrong sorry one sec" said Fred

BEEP

"wrong again", the noise got louder,

BEEP

Holden implied towards Fred "what's going on, it's been wrong 5 times" Fred stopped he slowly turned, with Tess and Robby already looking at Holden, Fred grumbled "Oh Holden you know we can't let you leave, we are not finish yet", Holden slowly started stepping back, a sharp poke broke onto Holden back, stopping him in fear.

Ruby's head peered over Holden shoulder, a massive kitchen knife was firmly placed against his back, "surprise" hey screeched, letting out a evil laugh. Holden stood in shock, on shear fear and shock, holden lifted his elbow, hitting directly in to Ruby nose so quick, dropping the knife, leaving a clang and clang of the sharp metal hitting the store floor. Holden dived, dropping his bag with his phone inside and grabbed the knife, with a pushed ruby out of the way, knocking her down, and bolting away to any aisle he could find.

Voice broke behind him, hearing Fred sinister voice declare "we were going to make it quick for you Holden, but after hurting poor Ruby, oh, it's going to be so much worse, when we find you, and we will find you" fred turned to the other, demanding them to spilt up find him NOW.
