A/N: I honestly haven't written in a while, so my writing skills are probably a little rusty haha

Winter POV

Winter woke once again. Apparently the nausea had completely passed by now.

He yawned and checked the time: 3 pm.

Momentarily he wondered where Moon was, until he saw her passed out on the other couch with the TV remote in hand.

I wonder how long she had to take care of me for? I have to thank her later.

Winter stretched, hopped off the couch, and checked the fridge. Empty.

Grocery shopping, hurray.

--------------------------------------------

Winter frowned as he looked over the goods in the supermarket. Was there anything that Moon might like in particular? Maybe some fruit?

He also grabbed a bottle of vegetable oil and some meat, some duct tape (he'd noticed that the kitchen faucet was slightly leaky), and some sweets. He hadn't had any in a long time.

Soon after, he dumped his items on the conveyor belt. The SandWing cashier quickly scanned over his items, a disturbed look on his face.

"Uh...sir? What are you planning to do with the duct tape and sweets...?"

Winter frowned before realizing. "Wait! No! It's not what it looks like! I just-"

The cashier quickly scanned his items and moved on to the next customer.

Winter sighed as he walked away.

"Oh, who might this be?" a voice behind him said.

Winter turned around to see a female IceWing seemingly his age. She was toting three bags, had a gold earring, and had a huge smile on her face.

"...Do I know you...?"

The IceWing groaned. "Was your memory always this bad? I'll give you a hint: General Puffington and Madame Avalanche."

"Uh...Oh, I remember now, they're your parents! Hi, Aurora."

Aurora grinned. "Glad you remembered. Based on the fact you're out here, I'm guessing you found that note I left you."

"I did. Even now, I still have absolutely no idea how you managed to find that exit out of the Kingdom."

Aurora tapped her head. "Through pure intellect, which you lack."

Winter half snorted in amusement. "That's no way to talk to a prince."

"We were betrothed; I can say anything I want."

"Oh, yeah...So, how have you been? By the way, I'm heading out. Keep in touch?"

"I'll follow you," Aurora said.

"Oh...sure."

They exited the store, then flew up into the air.

"And to answer your question, I've been fine," Aurora said to Winter. "I've been training under some SandWing doctor. He's fine, I guess. Nice dragon."

Winter smiled. "Good to hear."

"What about you, then?"

"I've been fine, I guess. Oh, we're here."

Winter landed and opened the door, Aurora following him.

"Is this your place? Cool. Pun unintended."

"Not exactly..." Winter said as he put the groceries on the counter.

"Really? Did you rent it? Wait, why is there a NightWing here?"

Winter whirled around. "Oh, uh...don't attack her or anything. She's...my friend, I guess," he muttered the final part.

Aurora raised one of her [nonexistent] eyebrows. "Really?" then something seemed to dawn on her and she squinted at Winter. "D-don't tell me she's a 'friend' that you're getting busy with..."

"What the- Of course not!" Winter sputtered, certain that he was blushing.

Aurora laughed loudly.

Moon POV

Moon was startled awake as she heard laughing. She rubbed her eyes and sat up.

"Oops, I guess I was too loud," she heard an unfamiliar voice say.

Moon blinked a few times, finally pinpointing the voice. It belonged to a rather pretty and jolly-looking female IceWing...

Wait, what?

"Uh, sorry, Moon..." Winter said. "Maybe I should introduce you two? Moon, this is Aurora; Aurora, this is Moon."

"Hi, Moon," Aurora greeted her.

"H...Hi?"

What in Pyrrhia is happening? Isn't Aurora the one WInter was betrothed to? Why is she here? Is she going to take Winter to somewhere? Why do I care so much?

"Anyways, off I go! Work shift," Aurora trilled. "Ta-ta."

Then she patted Winter on the head (which he didn't seem to like much), did the same to Moon, and then slammed the door.

"...So, that's your..."

"Y-yeah..." Winter replied, face a little red (blue?). "Uh, we're past that, though. She's gone on to live her life."

"But have you?"

"Um, yeah..."

Moon shrugged after a pause. "Alright, I'm going into my room. See you, Winter."

I still can't figure out why I care so much about Winter and Aurora, Moon thought to herself as she closed her door. Ugh, I need to sleep more.

Winter POV

Winter sighed as he put the groceries into their respective places and fixed the faucet. Why did he feel the need to explain to Moon?

Ugh, he needed a nap. Relationships were way too complicated.

A/N: Thank you for reading, stay hydrated (btw if you feel like there are major plot holes or anything that can be changed please don't hesitate to tell me and I'll try to fix it, would appreciate the chance to grow as a writer :D)
