Getting inside the room, I got frozen on my spot by seeing the view in front of me.
A room bathed in dim blue light, lined with computer screens humming softly. The digital glow reveals a setup of computers, cables, and an array of tech gear. Beside me, Gemini smirks, hinting at the secret world of hacking that lies before us.
His palm, still wrapped around mine. I turned to look at him. Trying to free my hand.
"Amazing setup, Khun Boss." I said going closer to the computers. This was exactly the same room which I saw last time but now the atmosphere was completely different.
"I worked hard on it. I hope, it's comfortable for you to work on." He said coming beside me.
"Yeah." If felt weirdly amazing to see him working so hard for my comfort. No wait, Fourth, get a hold of yourself. He is doing all this for his friend not you. Stop right there.
I took my notebook, starting to think about the upcoming act I was about to pull. Besides tracking down a person, Gemini don't know anything about hacking. So, this is going to be my only chance to snatch everything from his hands.
Gemini was still staring at me about how I got froze on the spot, lost in my own thoughts. He tapped in my shoulder and gave a hand gesture asking me "what happened?". I moved my head sideways saying, nothing.
I began with the investigation, inquiring about Mark's habits, I started asking him about the electronic devices Mark usually carries. Gemini, with a mysterious smirk, marks a set of distinctive items on a digital display. As I noted down the details, he was looking at me very sincerely, I could feel it with my whole guts that he didn't even blink once ever since I've started working on the investigation.
Deep down, I know I'm the one who kidnapped Mark. And everything I was doing was just an act I am pulling to get what I am working for, My revenge.
My fingers danced on the keyboard, the rhythmic typing acting like a personal therapy from stress. Gemini granted me silence in the room, leaving me alone after I was done with the questionnaire. Even though he wasn't physically present, his digital surveillance lingered, thanks to hidden cameras triggered when I entered. Despite this, I continued my act, skillfully covering up any suspicion, determined to play my part without giving away my true intentions.
He won't understand what I am doing either way.
He came back after a few minutes to check on me.
"All good?" He asked placing a cup of black coffee on the table next to my keyboard.
"Just, I need a little signal and I am done. He is in the city." I said without looking at him. My eyes frozen on the computer screen.
"You should blink, Khun Fourth. You'll damage your eyes this way." He said placing a hand on the table.
"That's my habit. I'm used to it, Khun Boss. Don't worry."
"I see...." He said making his way on the bed behind me.
"I won't leave the room now, it's already half past 11. I hope this won't disturb you." He said crawling on the bed.
"It won't, thank you." I continued.
He might be thinking that I was helping him searching for his friend Mark but I was actually hacking down his companies server. I already had 75% of the access by now and only if this person wasn't back at the room I would've cracked everything.
No worries, he'll fall asleep soon.
"Are you sleepy?" He asked. "You can take a break if you want."
"If I will... I'll lose the track and might have to start from the scratch again." I said turning the chair towards him.
"Just find Mark, and I'll give you everything that you need. I see you working hard for me, Fourth." Second time... This was the second time he said my name directly without the formal pronouns.
My heart unusually pounded inside my chest.
"I'll try my best, Khun Boss."
*Flashback*
"Where's the injection I asked you to buy?" I asked to Phi Luke.
"It's here, just tell us when to use it." He replied showing me the bottle of the liquid.
This was an Alzheimer building liquid which I asked them to bring, around a month ago.
"When I'll go to Gemini's house you need to inject this in a little amount around 2 ml only. I don't want him to forget everything, he should forget about those parts where we and our torture on him exists okay?" I said taking the bottle from his hand.
"Roger that." He said.
"Also, after injecting the liquid check his whole body thoroughly. He might have something hidden, in order to get us caught. I don't want that." I handed him the bottle again and held his shoulder.
"I'm giving this responsibility to you and Ford. Be careful, after leaving him in the middle of the jungle don't leave any traces of us. I'll bring Gemini with me there and you guys should not be around us. And one more thing, he should carry a cell phone. Exactly the same which he called Gemini with. Make this clear and clean."
*Flashback ends*
I hope, they've successfully plotted everything.
Now, I was coming to the conclusion where almost everything in his system was under my control. I took a peak at him and he was sleeping.
Until someone as skilled with technology as I am checks the system, no one in this world can know that this system now has two owners—myself and Gemini.
I hit the last key to claim the ownership.
It's done... It's... It's all in my hands now. Gemini, is now under my control.
Releasing a stress relief sigh, I woke up from the chair stretched my body a little and made my way towards him, trying to wake him up. "Khun Boss, I found him."
I've already opened a fake map on a computer screen which was pointing at a certain location in the nearest jungle around us.
"Where is he?" He rose and sat on the chair in front of the computer screen.
"Here." I said pointing at the location.
"Come with me," he said, roughly holding my hand as he led me downstairs. The grip was so hard around my wrist, it almost burst my nerves. He might've realised what he was doing so he gently unfastened his grip and held my hand with both of his hands.
"Does it hurt? I'm really sorry." He said.
"I understand you. I think we should hurry up before losing him again. We can't risk it." I replied offering him a helmet. "Let's go." I added.
"Yes please, I need to find him as soon as possible. And then, I'll kill that bastard who dared to kidnap my bestfriend."
Sure! Let's see who kills whom, Khun North.
