Today it's the weekend, Johnny decided we should all go to the carnival that arrived in the city. I was happy with that idea, Johnny said he texted a couple of people and asked if they wanted to come though i had no interest to ask who he texted. But i for sure know Jaemin, Jisung, Jaehyun and Haechan are coming.
We arrived at the carnival and decided to stay near the entrance to wait for the others, i saw Jaehyun from the far waving at us, i waved back and said hello to him. Next I saw Jaemin and Jisung playfully pushing each other as they're walking. They have gotten more friendlier and hang out more with each other and none of know when or how it started.
Next I saw Haechan with an unfamiliar face. Haechan introduced us to him, his name is Chenle, he goes to a different university than us.
Then I unexpectedly saw Renjun with Jeno, i was definitely expecting Jeno to come since he was the one who brought up the carnival in the group chat but i didn't expect Johnny to text Renjun. Renjun and Jeno seemed to get a long well even if they haven't ever met until today.
And then comes the last person, a face i wish i didn't see, Yuta. He was the person i least expected to see. Though i thought I'll be fine and ignore him since there's many of us and I'll just find someone to stick with the whole time.
We decided to go check around the carnival and try on some rides, Chenle and Jisung stayed back from the ride we went on as they thought it was too scary for them.
We decided after the ride we should complete a list of missions that Johnny made.
-get a toy from the claw machine
-go on the bumper cars
-go to the popping balloon game and win something
-find another team to go in the Maze and see which team gets out first
-go in the haunted house
- go on the ferris wheel
I read through the paper and feel relieved this isn't some sort of hard missions. Knowing Johnny i thought he'd make the mission be like "Win 10 toys in the shooting game" or something.
"How do we know which partners we have?" Renjun asks
"I mean we could pick who we want to go with, considering everyone should be on groups of two." Johnny responds
"I'll partner up with Renjun" Jeno said quickly, scared someone else will choose him. I see Renjun smiling widely as they both plan what they are gonna go do first.
"I'll go with JJ" Jisung says putting his arm around Jaemin's shoulder.
"You guys are giving each other nickmanes now?" I ask
"We have always been giving each other nicknames." Jisung says
"I don't think horse face is a nickname." I said recalling that time where Jisung said horse face to Jaemin when they were paired up as a team in sport.
"Okay so Jaemin, Jisung, Renjun and Jeno have their picks. Anyone else has theirs?" Johnny quickly changes the theme before arguments start
"I'll go with Mark." Yuta says raising his hand. The sentence goes through my head, the voice still lingers. Why the heck does HE out of all people choose me?
Johnny looks at me with hesitation as if he wants to change the team but he doesn't do so, he knows i hate Yuta but he still doesn't know as to why. Though clearly he should, he knows my history with players and that i despise them.
"I'll go with Haechan and Jaehyun can go with Chenle" Johnny says. I was confused as to why Johnny didn't put Chenle with Haechan considering they know each other but i decided to now asks questions.
"We should go completely the popping ballon ones as i'm pretty well in those" Yuta said while pointing at the game. I hummed in response not wanting to interact with him.
We got to the game and he actually was good at the game, he popped all the balloons easily. "Did he go here to impress girls or something" i thought to myself. Yuta gave me the darts to throw at the ballons, I hesitated to take it considering I'm horrible at it. I threw the first dart and i missed the balloon. Yuta chuckled and went behind me and took my hand to point at the direction at the balloon.
"And now throw." Yuta said calmly. And i threw the dart, this time landing on the balloon. He went to the side of me and winked at me. I hated it. I wanted to tell him to screw off but i didn't want to make a scene, there are way too many people here. So i ended up just giving him a death stare.
After a bit we finished the game and got two pick two toys, Yuta choose a pikachu plushie and i choose cute penguin plushie. While we were walking Yuta stopped me. I didn't understand as to why until he pointed at the claw machine.
"It's our other thing on the list we have to complete." Yuta said while happily fast walking to the claw machine. I hate to admit it and I'll probably never say it out loud but his behavior is cute.
And again he was great at the claw machine game, but for a player I'm not surprised. They always find ways to impress people. He picked up a axolotl plushie and handed it to me, as if i would even keep it.
