February 5, 2009.
Thursday Night in Ottawa.

It was a tough loss tonight. We played against the Boston Bruins and we lost during shoot outs. At least we got a point.

It never feels good to lose but we can't dwell on it. We need to move past it and focus on the next game. After several interviews, It was time for me to change and meet my parents.

"That was a tough loss." My father, Jim, spoke as we hugged.

"Yeah, I don't want to talk about it." I frowned as I hugged my mother.

"You'll get em' next time, honey." My mother, Karen, said as she kissed my cheek.

"Do you guys want to go get some Tim Hortons?" I asked, cause I was extremely hungry.

"Isn't it too late for that?" My dad asked.

"I know a Tim Hortons that is open 24 hours." I smiled as my dad nodded his head.

"Let's go then!" My mom shouted.

*************20 Minutes later***********

"So, when is Carrie coming back?" My dad asked with a big smile.

"I hope it's soon! We miss her very much." My mother added with a massive grin.

"She'll be back here in a couple weeks." I sigh, looking away.

"You miss her, don't you." My mom said as she patted my hand.

"Very much." I paused, taking a deep breath. "This whole relationship, will be a long distance kind of thing and it'll get tough....it's just kind of hard being away from her, you know." I said, looking down at my hands.

"But you two will make it work." My dad chimed in.

"The thing is, I'm scared. I'm scared that I might do something stupid that'll mess up this relationship." I quietly said. My whole body was tensed. "I don't want to lose her."

"But you won't. Hun, I understand the fact the both of you have high profile lifestyles and maintaining a relationship will be difficult." My mother paused as she took a sip of her hot chocolate. "But don't forget that Carrie wants to make this relationship work as much as you do, okay."

In that instance, my phone began to ring. I smiled as I read Carrie's name on the screen.

"It's Carrie, I'll be back." I told my parents as I headed my way towards the exit.

"Hey." I said with a goofy grin.

"Babe, I miss you." She cooed through the phone.

"I miss you too, like crazy. Even my parents misses you." I said as I heard her chuckle through the phone.

"Well I miss them too! Are you with them right now?" She asked.

"Yup. We're at Tim Hortons." I smiled. I glanced at the window as my parents ate their food.

"Isn't it late to be at Tim Hortons right now." She laughed.

"Babe, there's a 24 hour one. And I was hungry after the game." I said, walking towards the bench.

"You fatty!" She yelled through the phone. "Speaking about your game, how was it?" She asked.

"The game didn't ended the way we wanted it to, but at least we got a point." I said.

"I'm sorry about that. Well, I'll talk with you later." She said. "I don't want to take up your time since your hanging with your parents."

"Carrie, it's fine. I'm outside, we can talk for a couple more minutes." I answered. "I miss you being here..with me." I confessed.

"Aww somebody really misses me." Carrie said in a high pitched, childish voice.

"Alright, cut that crap." I playfully replied as she laughed on the other end of the phone. "How was your writing session."

"It felt so great to be back in the studio and to work with all these amazing writers." She paused. "We didn't come up with much, but we mainly focused on the two songs we wrote today." She said with such excitement.

"Two songs sounds like a lot." I chuckled. I stood up and walked over to a light post. "What are you doing right now?" I asked, leaning against the post.

"I just arrived at my hotel." She yawned. "I just wanted to call you before I go and head up in the shower."

"Oh, okay. Yeah, you do that and I'll just.." I said not knowing what to say next.

"Really, Mike." She giggled through phone. "I'll skype with you later tonight."

"Hmm, I'll be waiting then." I lowered my voice.

"Seriously, Mike stop being a little creep." She laughed.

"How is that a creep, I'm your boyfriend." I chuckled, slipping my free hand into my pocket.

"You know what I mean." She paused. "Just text me when you get home, okay."

"Alright, I'll text you." I said, breathing out heavily. "Talk to you later, babe."

"Bye, Mikeyy!!" She yelled before hanging up.

It's going to be a long night.
