Daryl turned slightly, hearing the faint whispers of Beth and Maggie. They have been going on for days about how they needed to be strong because it was 'their' job. He didn't understand why he was listening, but he did.

"Maggie, you need to listen to me.." The tiny girl spoke, her voice cracking as she touched her sisters shoulder. "Thing's aren't going to be like this forever."

"Stop. Just stop, Beth. You need to face reality and just realize that as of now? Nothing is going to get better."

"You can't be too sure of that. You need to have-"

Maggie cut her sister off and looked her dead in the eye.

"And you can't be too sure that hope or faith is just goin' to wash all of our problems away." Maggie had a small smile on her face which faded after awhile of silence.

"You're right. But we need to be strong, you know? For daddy, and Carl; Judith too. We need to be strong for each other. We need to be strong for everyone, it's our job. And everyone has a job that they need to do."

Daryl scoffed and turned; walking the other way. He didn't get why they thought like that. Yeah they have to be strong for everyone but in the end it's not really going to matter. Everyone would be dead, and the world would just be turned to shit. Worse than it already is, that is.

When Daryl turned a sharp corner, he bumped shoulders with Rick who had bags under his eyes and tear streaks from where his tears wiped the dirt away from the mans face.

"How you holdin' up?" Daryl asked, looking at Rick sentimentally.

Rick just shook his head in hopes that Daryl would see how everything was just falling apart.

"You need anythin'?" His eyes gazed over Rick's face once more; trying to remember how the man looked when he still had Lori. But the Rick he used to see all the time, was gone. Like something tore him away from everyone.

Daryl understood what Rick was going through, but it still felt like it wasn't fair that Rick had to be like this.

Rick opened his mouth to speak and Daryl's heart jumped to his throat, but as soon as Rick closed his mouth; Daryl's heart fell back into the pit of numbness.

Rick started walking past Daryl, which angered Daryl in a way. But he just shrugged it off and went to find Michonne. She wasn't anywhere to be seen, so he went to his last resort. Glenn.

"Hey Glenn!" He yelled out, on the search for the small Korean boy. Glenn came running around the corner; his eyebrows knitted together.

"Yeah?"

"I'm goin' on a supply run. Gonna try to find somethin' that Rick might like." Daryl said; tilting his head back some motioning to where he and Rick just spoke. Glenn nodded slowly and looked down, chewing his bottom lip.

"I'll come with you. I need to get some things for-" Glenn's calm voice was cut short when a small, barely audible voice chimed in.

"Judith." She said, startling the boys.

"Shit, you scared me farm girl." Daryl muttered, looking over at Beth who just nodded.

"I want to go get some things for her. Can I come with you two?"

Glenn turned to look at her; worry in his eyes.

"Beth, I don't think Maggie or Hershel will want you to-"

"I can take care of myself. Just let me do this."

Daryl looked between the two seeing Hershel ahead, he smiled and with a nod of his head; he walked away.

"She can go." The deep, gruff voice spoke. Glenn looked up about to say something but Daryl cut him off. "If she says she can take care of herself, she can."

Beth looked at Daryl and smiled wide, but the man didn't return it; just nodded. Glenn just sighed and shook his head.

"Okay, fine.. Lets go. Make sure you bring a weapon. Two at most, just in case." The Korean said softly, looking down.

"Yeah we know the drill. I'll take my motorcycle with Beth, you take your truck." Daryl's gruff voice rung around the walls of the prison. Beth walked gleefully beside the taller man with the scruff running down his chin and up his cheeks a little. She watched him for a few minutes as they stepped foot out of the prison.

Beth watched as Daryl kicked the kick stand back and climbed onto the bike.

"Come on farm girl." He said looking back shielding the sunlight from his eyes. Beth rolled her eyes and climbed on the back of the bike.

"For your information," the girl started, her southern accent drifting off some. "I'm a prison girl now."

"Whatever.." Daryl stated, starting the bike and turned away from Beth. He watched Glenn go first then started after him; a small smile making it's way onto Daryl's face.
