Gunshots, Screams, and.... ¿Music?

Screams began to make their way down the halls, kids running to safety, and gunshots ringing through the corridors. Sean knew Jake couldn't run so he dropped his stuff, picked Jake up, grabbed Willow's hand, and ran. He didn't know where he was going but it wasn't towards the front entrance. The office was located near there, so going would be suicide.

"Sean, where are we going?" Willow asked. She didn't get an answer as Sean rounded a corner and opened a door. He pulled her inside and closed the door, locking it behind him. "Sean..." She was cut off by Sean shushing her. He gestured for Willow to grab Jake and she did, cradling her brother in her arms. He grabbed a ladder and placed it on the wall, climbed up, and opened up a hatch.

He climbed up and reached down to help Jake climb up, Willow keeping him steady at the bottom. He pulled Jake up and moved out of the way so Willow could climb up. Once she was up, he knocked the ladder onto a pile of boxes, silencing the noise. He closed the hatch, plunging them into complete darkness. "How did you know this was here?" Jake questioned. His boyfriend knew about a secret hiding spot this whole time? Was he preparing in case this ever did happen?

"I was helping the janitor when he told me to place a box up here. He said I could use this place whenever I wanted, so I decorated it." As he explained, he grabbed a small remote from a box and pushed a button, turning on LED lights.

The medium sized area consisted of games, snacks, a mini fridge with drinks, plushies, and more. It was obvious that Sean had been busy. "How did you even have the time to do any of this?" The siblings were honestly confused and wanted answers, which Sean happily gave. He explained how he did this when his mom was with his stepfather.

"That makes sense," Jake said bluntly.  Sean was a senior and had free periods too, so when his friends were in class, he was here. Sean pulled out his phone when he got a notification, showing the news was active. He opened the app and saw that their school was on the channel.

"Breaking news, students are trapped inside of the school and cannot get out. The police are outside trying to get in but the doors are stuck."

Blood splattered against the bullet proof glass doors, showing that another student had been either murdered or injured, the latter being the more obvious choice.

Jake grimaced at the news, vomit threatened to come up. Jake hated the thought of seeing all of the blood, the thought of kids dying made him want to vomit. It was disgusting and horrible how people could kill others without remorse. Now that he thought about it, the shooter said they were coming for him. The shooter was looking for him, killing anyone else who was unfortunate to cross their path. He felt bad and ashamed. This was his fault. People were dying because of him.

"Jake." The peach haired boy looked at his sister. "Why did the shooter say they were looking for you?" Jake could hear his heartbeat out of his chest, wanting nothing more than to curl up and disappear.

"I..." He was cut off by a gunshot and a scream nearby. Another person slaughtered. Another person who just lost their life. The sirens outside were like the melody in the background, the gunshots and screams being the main tune. They knew that the killer was close so they had to sit in silence, listening to innocent people lose their lives. The three curled up against each other, wanting some kind of comfort. Why couldn't they ever catch a break?

Hey girls and gays, how are y'all doing? I know that this story is just becoming morbid and depressing but don't worry, it'll get better soon. Maybe I'll reveal who's behind all of this next chapter, maybe not. Idk yet, lol. I hope you all are doing great.

Love you all,
