Willow was now back in her room, Jake relaxing next to her. Jake had found some melatonin's, didn't know who they belonged to, and gave Willow one. She thought it was candy and was now fast asleep.
Jake returned to the living room, Milly looking the other way when she saw him, and sat with Sean.
"How is she," the black haired boy asked.
"She's fine, just tired." That was the honest truth, he just left out a few minor details. Like how the punch had messed up her shoulder further, setting back the recovery time.
Sean smiled at the fact she was alright. The girl had managed to give him the little sister he's always wanted, her playful personality making her enjoyable. "How about we got to bed? It's quite late already."
Jake nodded his head, yawning at the thought of sleep.
. . . .
It was now the next day and classes were almost over. Milly hadn't come that day because of a fever.
The couple, and Luke, sat down at a table to enjoy the lunch their parents made. Suddenly Willow came and sat next to Luke, smiling at their reactions.
"You aren't supposed to be here," Jake said, glaring at his sister for disobeying the doctor's order.
Willow only smiled, not really caring about Jake's glares. "He said I shouldn't go to class. He didn't say anything about eating lunch with my besties."
Jake sighed at his sister's logic. Why did she always have to be right?
Willow smiled at her brother's silence, now deciding to eat her food.
Jake, who sat on the far right, reached for his soda. However, Before he could grab the cold beverage, someone with a hood dumped two pots of steaming tea onto his shoulder. They then dropped the pots and ran away, officers chasing after them.
Meanwhile, doctors rushed in and took Jake away to the infirmary. The other three got up and ran after them, wanting to make sure Jake was alright.
. . . .
After the doctors were done they allowed everyone waiting outside into the room.
"He has second degree burns on his forearm and thigh. Thankfully it didn't reach his private area and as long as he's careful, it'll be easily treated."
Everyone let out a sigh of relief, glad that it would be easily treatable, though upset because he didn't deserve to be going through so much pain.
"What does this mean for his leg though? It's broken and now has second degree burns." To say that Rachel was worried was an understatement. Rachel had grown to love her son's boyfriend as if he was her own. Now he was going through so much pain, it broke her heart to pieces.
The doctor looked back down at Jake's papers.
"The leg seems to be no longer broken, but instead fractured. Because liquids absorb into the skin, we have to run more tests to see how much of his bones were harmed."
Rachel nodded solemnly, turning back to Jake with a sad look in her eyes.
The doctor turned around and left, wanting to give the family some space.
Everyone in the room was upset. They just wanted Jake to catch a break. They soon looked around the room and made a silent oath.
They were going to make sure nothing else happened to the peach haired boy. If it was the last thing they ever did.
