Guns fired. People ran there and there, hoping to get away. But to no avail.Arthur watched the entire thing go down in a few seconds, he lifted his arms up, still holding onto his mother in hopes of shielding himself. When the realization hit him that his parents were here, his family members were here, he instantly grabbed his mother, and scurried off somewhere else. Blood rang in his ears, he was so anxious. Where was his father?
His aunt? His cousin? What about the other families? Arthur heard screams, he saw a woman- Most likely a mother, screaming as she stared at the motionless body on the ground, only to be shot in the head. Arthur almost puked, why... How..
Had they really been funding such an event? If only they had known.. If only. Arthur's Mother's eyes widened, guns appeared from the ceiling, and she knew they could not get away. "..Arthur..!! Go! Please.. My son.. Go!! Now!"
Arthur's eyes teared up, "What?- No! Mother, I can't, I... I can't leave yo-"
She staggered slightly, Arthur's eyes moved down, eyes glued onto her bloodied calve. She pushed him out of the way, a gun fired so loud, Arthur's ears were ringing. He closed his eyes for a split second, but he did not miss the way his Mother flew forward.
Thud!
She laid face flat on the ground, the blood pooled out of her wound, and it was only growing bigger and bigger on the floor. Arthur gulped, "..Mother? Mom.."
The shock was too much.
Someone slammed against him, and he fell on the ground. People trampled on Arthur's body, causing him to gasp in sheer pain. He flayed around desperately, he just wanted to look at his Mother. Even if it was for the last time, he pulled on people's ankles, crawling his way towards his Mother's body.
"..Mom..?" He whispered, he laid his face right next to hers, blood staining the side of his head. "..Mother.. No, no..!! Mom.. Mommy? Please!! Open your eyes.."
He cried, and cried, his throat burned with the need to scream. But he couldn't make a sound, the tears could only continue to flow. He so desperately wanted to die, so desperately wanted to hold his Mother's hand, and be reassured by the thought of him being in a safe place with her.
But he could not.
Arthur was also furious. Furious that those who had caused this- Even though his family made this happen. But how would they have known that this would happen?
He also felt guilt. For the souls that have lost their lives, simply because..
The government was wicked.
The shootings died down slowly, but he could not lay there. He could not accept this, let his Mother's body be disrespected like this, and for him to just accept it and not do something about this.
So thankfully, he raised his head up slightly but not enough to alarm someone. And he blinked, he caught the same blond haired Man that was leaning against a bloodied wall, stand up, push the corpse of someone that looked awfully related to him; His father? Oh my God... Bumble Thunderstorm, his father, he pushed the corpse away, and ran with all his might.
Giving Arthur just the time he needed to kiss his Mother's forehead, stand up, and run with all of the strength he had left- The fury, the guilt, the woe, and the need to escape it all.
This could not be real..
But unfortunately, it was.
☠
The Blond haired Man could run, Arthur gave him that.
Arthur chased him, breathing heavily as he dodged the cars that stood still on the road. He wasn't sure where the blond haired man was heading to, but all he knew was that, he did not want to be alone. He was dead sure that this man was the only one that was alive in the Upside city, and he did not want to leave him alone.
Arthur wasn't ready to live all alone. He needed someone around him, or else he would go crazy. And he could not have that in this situation. Not right now, and not ever.
The Man made a swift turn, and so did Arthur. Although, the man halted, and Arthur was forced to do the same. Later, someone grabbed his collar and slammed him against the brick wall.
The Man screamed with all of his might. And damm was his voice deep in contrast to his sweet, and youthful face. "WHY ARE YOU FOLLOWING ME?! HUH?!"
Arthur's chest heaved with fear, ".. I'm sorry.. I can't-"
"I don't give a fuck about what you can't!! THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT! YOUR FAMILY AND YOU!" The Man screeched, banging his hands against the wall, besides Arthur. And Arthur flinched.
He stared at the taller Man's eyes with guilt. "..We-" But before he could get any words out, they heard a helicopter in the distance. The Man instantly ran towards a narrow alleyway, and Arthur followed.
He could not be alone. He lost his family, he couldn't lose this person too.
The man looked over his shoulder as he sneaked carefully, rolling his eyes, he whispered angrily. "Fucking leave me alone... This is all your fault and I'm not done with you!"
Arthur understood the man's resentment towards him. But he could not be alone. So the Man ran straight ahead, and Arthur followed.
They both stopped.
They both hid under a parking building, against the wall. The Man ignored Arthur who trembled like a leaf, yet his face did not show the same fear as his body did. The Man turned his head around, to look at his surroundings. He frowned when he noticed trucks driving around and his eyes glued onto words that caught him in a trance.
Project SOS-65.
The same thing that was plastered on the AI's forehead, was written on the trucks. The same helicopter they heard, flew even closer. Arthur gulped, hoping that they would not get caught.
Arthur saw something peculiar. A rocket? They were going to space at such a time?!
What was going on... But he knew that, that question would not be answered.
The Man saw something, something being released. Blue waves covered the sky, almost like you could see the atmosphere. But then it dawned on the two of them, was this the secret weapon they were talking about?
Suddenly, they saw yellow sparks in the sky and something smelled awfully funny.
Explosions.
As soon as the yellow sparks touched the ground, touched everything that was in sight, they caught on fire and burned heavily. The smell made Arthur cough, alerting the man who stared at him annoyingly.
With a groan, he grabbed Arthur's arm and together, they ran.
