CHAPTER-4

MAYUKA'S POV

The morning rays of the sun hit me to tell that it was morning already, I lazily got up from the bed and left to washroom to do my morning routine. After completion of my morning chores I left my room and knocked my adjacent room to ask whether they are ready or not and they replied positively saying that they are ready and the door is opened by Maanvi.
"Good morning neighbour roomie" I told giggling at her.

She also replied with the same enthusiasm in her voice like mine and told she's excited for the breakfast and is hell a hungry. Soon her other roommate also came out and we made our way towards hostel mess.

" What are your plans today Mayuka? "  Maanvi asked me out of nowhere.

" Nothing much. Waiting for my other roommate to come  and I am excited to explore the campus. " I told her.

Because classes for juniors are going to start from tomorrow. So technically today is free for us.

"Maybe we can explore college from tomorrow onwards,  let's first have beautiful sleep today and then let's watch a movie" Maanvi suggested to which we agreed as we have nothing much to do.

While talking about some pointless matters and laughing on our own jokes we reached to our mess. Soon we stood in a line after filling our plates with today's breakfast according to menu that is aloo paratha, we found an empty table so we went there and ate it while discussing which movie we should watch. After completion of our breakfast we came back to hostel and departed to our own rooms to meet after sometime. I was about to open my door but found it was already opened. I thought that my roommate had came and entered inside excitedly to meet her. After all  I have to spend this year with her the most time, as I found that she is also from my branch.

I entered inside and found three women in their forties maybe and two girls of my age. One woman is setting her bed and the other woman in simple but official light pink saree is explaining her something and when I listened to her carefully then I understood that she is saying how to take care of herself and all things just like how my mother told me and understood that she might be her roommate. The other woman in dark blue saree which might be designer is doing nothing but scrolling her phone. along with the other girl in jeans. I thought the ladies are still unaware of my presence because they are busy in themselves. I'm thinking whether talk to them or not but luckily that aunty who is telling do's and don't's noticed me and came near me with a smile and a spark in her eyes which I am unable to understand.

"Hi beta, how are you? " She asked me with a smile.

I touched her feet and replied " I am fine aunty, thank you. "

Soon the other ladies noticed me and the aunty who is setting the bed came to me and patted my head lovingly and asked " So you are the other roommate? " with a smile on her face.

I touched her feet also replied "ji aunty" with a nod

"You are looking so beautiful and well-mannered beta. Now after seeing I feel now no need to worry how our daughter will stay here beta"  aunty who was setting bed told with a smile and relief while saying those last words.

I blushed slightly for their compliments and murmured a small " Thank you aunty".

My roommate made her way towards me and extended her hand and said " Hi, I'm Sony Saxena, your roommate " with a genuine smile adorning her face.
