A/N: This chapter takes a hell of a lot of inspiration from TASM, so if you are a fan of those movies, this part is for you! Some of the speech is directly from the movie - I will change a few things, though, such as some of the speech and Liz's appearance. Enjoy!

Miles's POV

As I left the subway station, my mind was filled with thoughts of Gwen.

The way the conversation had flowed between us, and how easily we settled down with each other. It was almost like I was sitting next to her - as Miles Morales, not Spider-Man.

I opened my window and jumped in, taking off my mask. The noise of my entrance once again alerted Ganke, who turned around in his chair to face me.

"Miles, what gives? We were supposed to meet up after school!" He threw his hands up in the air.

"Oh-" I had completely forgotten to come back and had instead gone for a swing.

"Sorry, I needed to clear my head, so I went out." I apologized.

"Hm." Ganke made a disapproving noise and went back to his laptop.

"Anyway, while you were gone, I was able to do a little more research on the whole Oscorp thing, and a huge opportunity presented itself." He pressed some letters on his keyboard before continuing.
"Luckily for you, Oscorp - specifically, Dr. Curtis Connors - has invited 24 of the smartest students from all over the country to work with him at his laboratory."

Ganke shifted slightly so that I could get a closer look at the screen.

"No way..." My voice trailed off as I scrolled through the article.

"You're welcome," Ganke smirked as he looked at the screen.

My expression quickly changed from one of wonder to one of disappointment. "It says, 'Intern Enrollment Now Closed'." I sighed and stepped back.

He simply stared at me with the same infuriating smug look on his face. I slowly realized what he was hinting at and I glared at him.

"No, no, no, I'm not doing it, Ganke."

"I am not going to do this - nope, nope, no, no, no, you're crazy, I am not doing this-"

The next day

"I am doing this," I muttered, gripping the straps of my bag tightly.

My 'disguise' - if you can even call it that - consisted of a singular pair of glasses.

I'm dead when I get in.

"Ganke, this is so stupid - I'm going to get caught." I hissed, hoping he could hear me through the earpiece he had given me so we could communicate.

"No, you aren't; trust me." He said back.

I groaned. "If I die, it's your fault."

"You won't," he assured me.

"How did you register me in so late?" I asked.

"I didn't," he simply said.

I sighed and walked into Oscorp.

Inside

I had to keep my jaw from dropping as I took in everything around me - this place was huge. It seemed to only go up, as there were endless escalators that led to each floor.

My gawking was rudely interrupted by the lady at the reception.

"Excuse me," she asked.

"Oh-uh, yeah?" I said, walking over to her desk.
