OKAY SO I KNOW HOW THIS LOOKS BUT HEAR ME OUT PLEASE

Firstly, I'm NOT quitting. I cannot stress this fact enough. I am too deep to quit now, and I love writing a bit too much to just leave Wattpad.

I have been MIA for the last three weeks, and it's been eating at me. It's a combination of stress/uncertainty, and I have been thinking about this almost nonstop. I got sick and someone I knew died all in the same week, so that wasn't fun. But we push through.

Anyway, the main reason why I am writing this is because I have too many ideas, if that makes any sense. I keep going on AO3 and reading TASM fics because Andrew Garfield is hot fire AND because I love the movies. I also keep reading other Spider-Verse/Marvel fics and I keep getting new ideas for my story.

Last week, I was scrolling through my own fanfic because I'm weird like that, and the more I read, the more I realized that my story did NOT line up with whatever I want to write.

I've seen other Gwiles/Spider-Verse fics that are really good, and the authors have excellent ideas, but most people lose interest and leave right after Gwen and Miles get together OR the plot gets too hard to follow. (Not throwing shade at ANYONE, I LOVE THE GWILES ON WP.) It can be jarring to read a cute Gwen x Miles fic and all of a sudden people are dying, and there's a whole villain, and just a lot that would be even better if the idea of the story lined up with the plot.

Plots evolve. People evolve. And unfortunately, most people don't want to watch the development of an author's writing/an author's personality through the book. They just want a cute fic that they can go to for their daily dose of fluff. And that's okay. But, six months after I began this fic, and seven since I watched ATSV, my ideas and plans have changed. A lot.

There were supposed to be 3 books for this series. There were supposed to be 2 spin-offs. I was supposed to be DONE with the series by now – yet, I'm still on book one.

I want to write a fic that people know what they are getting into. I want to write a story where people know that they will feel more than just an 'aww, how cute' feeling. My story may have started that way, but now? There's so much more.

I may be getting in too deep for just a fanfiction, but seeing as I'm not ready to call it a book or anything yet, I will settle for this. My ideas are all over the place, and I need to organize them. I need to have a coherent plot. Story ideas will ALWAYS change, but not to this degree – I want to have a Marvel book (this idea is still in limbo). How crazy is that?

I know some of you just wanted a cute fic that you can see for the shits and the giggles, and to be honest, that's what I wanted too. I'm sorry that I didn't deliver what you wished, and to all the people who love this story and don't want it to change, I'm sorry.

I'm going to rewrite this. NOT discontinue it. The main story idea is the same – however, the plot will be more action/adventure-focused instead of Gwiles-focused (again, DON'T RUN AWAY I SWEAR THERE WILL BE A LOT OF GWILES at a point if you're willing to wait).

There will be ATOTS (A Tale of Two Spiders). There will be ATOTP, and TTOMS (not telling you what the acronyms mean – guesses are welcome).

All I ask is that you wait for me if you are willing to. You are free to leave and say that @katicagrim964 is such a terrible author, she quit her story by using fancy words instead of just telling us she was tired.

I PROMISE I WILL COME BACK. THIS STORY IS NOT DISCONTINUED. I will say this because I know there may be some people in the comments of Part 25 asking for updates. I will not reply to them.

P.S.: There will be side projects that I will be working on. They are still Gwiles/Spider-Verse-oriented, so if you want another Gwiles story, I will write one. I have a draft right now, so you can expect one soon. Next week or the week after most likely.
