A family dinner

"WOULD IT KILL YOU TO DO SOMETHING FOR YOUR OWN BABY SISTER HEE-SIK?".

Nam-ra had made reservations for hee-sik and her to have a family dinner. "I'm busy nam-ra! You aren't a child anymore you can stand to eat alone" he replied.

"I'm only asking for one thing oppa" she frowned pacing in front of the restaurant. "We can get lunch tomorrow. Goodbye nam-ra be safe" he said.

She stayed quiet "I love you" he said. "Bye" she hung up and angrily shoved her phone into her purse. "Nam-ra?" A voice said from behind her. She turned around to see si-oh in more casual clothing.

"Si-oh" she said with a flat smile. "What are you doing?" He asked her examining her outfit. She wore sandals and a simple dress with cherries imprinted on it yet she was still gorgeous.

"Just....hanging out" she said nawing at the inside of her cheek. "I find that hard to believe, you're dressed nice" he pointed out. She sighed "I planned a family dinner for my brother like we use to have before I moved but he said no".

"I'd be happy to have dinner with you" si-oh said. Reluctantly she agreed and the two entered the restaurant. They were sat in a booth with a window view.

"Nam-ra I feel like I hardly know you. Tell me something about you" he said. "Personal information so soon Si-oh?" She asked.

"I wanna know everything you're willing to tell me" even dressed so casual he still had his elegant front about him. "Okay well my name is Lee nam-ra. I have a older brother and one friend" she held up one finger.

"Who is this one friend?" He asked. "His name is Choi Jun-woo. We've been friends since university" she said a small smile on his face. "University?" The man in front of her questioned to which she nodded.

"We went to school in the states.". She missed Jun-woo, they had similar situations. Both from Korea, raised by a single mother, shitty older brothers.

Jun-Woo's brother treated him like some type of lap dog while nam-ra's made it clear he wasn't interested in being a big brother.

Hee-Sik is kind, just not to his younger half sister. "I use to live in the states years ago." Si-oh confessed. Her eyes brightened "really?" She asked. He smiled and nodded.

Si-oh

How could someone be so beautiful? So pure. Her eyes glowed and she took sweet sips of her soda. She looked pretty in her dress. How could anyone stand up such a sweet woman?

Her brother was a asshole. If I had siblings I'd make time for them.

The waiter came by placing two burgers in front of us. Hers seemed better. Two juicy patties, cheese, bacon, lettuce, a bit of ketchup and a sesame seed bun.

While mine was a singular thick Patty with a slice of cheese and a plain bun. She thanked the waiter and took a bite of one of her French fries.

"Si-oh? Are you okay?" She asked me. The way she said my name wasn't something Im use to. "Yes everything is fine" I smiled at her and took a bite of my burger. It was a good burger I could admit that.

My phone buzzed against the table. I was going to pick it up when I saw the look on her face. She seemed back cold and distant. I flipped my phone onto its face "you shouldn't have such a long face. We have amazing burgers".

"You can answer the call" she said. "I'd rather not. It's 9pm, I'm not working" he said and took another bite. Her warm smile came back and she took another large bite from her burger.

"What made you go into fashion?" I asked her wiping the grease from my face with a napkin. I knew the answer but her explaining it just erupted the same love i felt for her all those years ago.

She took a moment to swallow the fizzy drink in her mouth before answering.

"I've always loved clothes. As a kid I wasn't really good at much besides making clothes." She said. "My mom would have me read magazines while she was in meetings and I grew to love it" she confessed.

"What made you start doogo?" She asked. "business. Honestly Nam-ra I've never been a fan of selling things" I told her.

This was setting off so many flags in my head but she made me not care. I'd give her my bank password if she asked in this moment.

"What are you a fan of?" She asked. I froze. What was I a fan of? In that place my only dream was getting out. "I'm not sure" I mumbled. "That's alright. We are still young" she grinned.

Third pov

By the end both si-oh and nam-ra were stuffed and ready to go home. "Thank you for having dinner with me Si-oh" she bowed her head slightly with a grin.

"Thanks for allowing me nam-ra" he smiled back. God if anyone seen him he was afraid of what might happen. Would they kill her? Kill him? Tear his business from the ground to where she would leave him?

"may I have your number? Her voice sliced through his thoughts. "Of course" he smiled at her. He handed over his phone and she typed in her number. Lee Nam-Ra 🍒

She handed it to him. "I'll see you around si-oh" she said and walked off.
