TURNS out the reason why the power went out was that a power line broke and half of the neighbourhood lost power. All we could do was wait.

We kind of just explored the house in the dark. I turned my phone's flashlight off to save the battery.  I walked out of the room I was currently sleeping in and in shock, I ran into someone. The person was taller than me and they were... warm? They grabbed my waist to steady me.

"Fuck," I heard the other person groan. Oh shit. It was Minho. Why him of all people?

"God, watch where you're going." When he heard my voice, he immediately let go of my waist.

"Says the person who walks into walls 24/7," He snorted.

"The walls aren't as big as your fucking ego," I spat.

"Your ego jokes are getting old, Anika, really, think of something more creative," He said.

"The ego joked aren't as old as you are,"

"I'm only 1 year older than you."

"Yet you think you know everything because you're studying to be a doctor."

"I know more than you do. Let's be honest, fashion design isn't gonna get you anywhere in life," He taunted.

"You only live once, bitch," I heard him sigh after I finished my sentence.

"That's your answer for everything, isn't it, Lemonhead?" His voice got deeper by a lot and Holy- Wait, NO ANIKA YOU CAN'T THINK THAT. No.

"Yeah, basically," I said. "Anyways, unless you have any use to be around me, I'm gonna go find Hana and the girls

"You act like they're your source of life," He scoffed.

"They are," I walked down the stairs and I found the girls sitting in the lounge room, playing never have I ever. Not with alcohol but with hot sauce?

"Hey! Anni, you wanna join us?" Teresa asked.

"Hell yeah, I wanna join you." I sat down next to Brenda and Hana. I was given a shot glass with Hana's favourite hot sauce

"Alright, never have I ever used a fake ID," Harriet said. I took the shot of hot sauce faster than a cheetah can run. Sonya did the same. I coughed, trying to get the burn of it away. Sonya's eyes started tearing.

"I'm sorry, when have you used a fake ID?" Harriet asked.

"To sneak into a club," Sonya said.

"To not be arrested by the police. I may have accidentally wandered somewhere I wasn't allowed to," I said.

"Where?" Harriet asked again.

"That is private, my friend."

"Okay? Your turn."

"Never have I ever... been on a blind date," I said. Literally, all of them drank their shots of hot sauce. Most of them started crying.

"Oh god, it burns," Teresa whined.

"Want us to set you up?" Brenda asked after the burn wasn't so bad anymore.

"I'm good. As much as I love you guys, I don't trust you that much,"

"Your loss. Alright... Brenda's turn," Sonya said.

"Never have I ever... flown overseas." I drank the shot fast again. Hana, Teresa and Harriet drank their shots as well. I will never get used to this hot sauce.

"You guys wanna go overseas?" Hana randomly asked. "I mean, we only have two months left and it's almost Christmas. We can have fun together one last time?"

"I mean, I'm in." I agreed.

"Same."

"Sure."

"Fuck it, why not?"

"Yay, got any ide-"

"Watcha guys talking about?" Thomas sat on the couch next to us, interrupting Hana. Aris, Minho and Newt sat on the couch next to him.

"Nothing," Hana said quickly.

"Okay, no we know you're hiding something. Spill," Newt said.

"God, fine, the six of us are planning on going on an overseas trip before uni," Hana said.

"Not alone you aren't," Minho cut in.

"Well, why the fuck not?" Hana asked.

"Because you're still a child. Your birthday isn't for another 3 weeks. You're still 17, Hana."

"But-"

"No buts, Hana, Mom and Dad left me in charge of you until they're back."

"What if you just come with us?" Hana suggested. "Please, we really wanna do one last thing before we leave. PLEASEEE." She pleaded. "You can bring your friends."

"Goddammit, fine Hana." Minho sighed. "Don't expect me to pay for you guys's tickets though, you pay for your own."

"Yes," Hana cheered high-fiving me. "Where should we go? Australia? The Netherlands? Mexico? Italy? Germany? Sweden? Hawaii? Oh my God, wait I know, we should go to Paris."

"Definitely," I said. The others agreed.

"Maybe we can finally find you someone, Anni." She nudged me.

"My love life is perfectly fine, Hana, I don't need a boyfriend or a girlfriend," I reassured.

"You haven't dated anyone since-" The look of guilt crossed her face. "Sorry."

"It's alright. Maybe you'll find your one true love there. You never know."

"You're not going to Paris just to spend the whole time looking for a man that doesn't exist," Minho said sharply. Yeesh, I can't imagine being related to his grumpy ass.

Hana glared at Minho. "A woman could only dream. Besides, I also want to go there for the scenery. Apparently, it's gorgeous this time of month."

We all went to sleep in the lounge room- well correction, they went to sleep. I on the other hand was still awake. By the time I had wanted to go to sleep, the sun was already rising so I didn't see a point.

-

It was around 11 am now and everyone else had already gone home, except for Hana and Minho because they live here. We were sitting next to their pool, looking at flights and hotels.

"Hey, how about this flight? It's cheap and there's a lot of openings for when we could fly." I said. Minho walked up behind me and I tensed. He was a lot taller than me when I was sitting and he was standing.

"Did you just suggest a one-star airline?" He asked. I couldn't tell what his tone was. It wasn't angry, definitely wasn't confusion and also not a genuine tone. Wait, it was sarcasm. Oops.

"Well, you haven't found any airlines so," I snapped.

"That's because I'm looking at Hotels."

"Doesn't sound like you're making much progress."

"Cut it out," Hana said. "I found a hotel. It's five stars and facing the Eiffel Tower."

"Five stars? Won't that be a little... expensive?" I asked.

"Don't worry, I'll pay." She suggested.

"Hana, you don't have to pa-" I started but was soon cut off.

"Consider it a payback for bailing Minho out of jail." She said.

"Hana-"

"No, Anni, please don't try and argue back. Consider it an early Christmas present."

"But-"

"Anni."

"Fine, but I'll still owe you."
