My mind tends to wonder the best here I make the most sense. As I got to the lake I saw a figure, A figure I knew by heart long blonde hair,Tan face, smile clearly present on her face, there she was there was Josie.
My Josie...
I approached the ice and watched her do her figure skating routine, I sat in the snow watching her before she saw me and her head tilted to the side before skating over.
"Jack what are you doing here?" My name rolled off her tongue so perfectly and god those eyes.
"I always come here to clear my mind" she nodded and sat next to me leaning her head on my shoulder. I smiled lightly before looking down at her.
"Jack can I ask you somthing?" I nodded before listening to her speak.
"That day at the rink, how did you know what to do?" I began to draw light circles on her back as I answered.
"I get like that before really tough games too just not as bad."
She smiled and nuzzled into my shoulder more before thinking, I tried to think but I couldn't help but watch her. The way her cheeks and nose were slightly red from the heat.
"Can I ask you question?" I nudged her before she nodded.
"Have you ever thought about times where I wasn't your brother's friend, and we weren't so busy?" It was a long shot but I needed to try before she thank out an answer.
She nodded before speaking "Is this your way of telling me you have a crush on me Mr.Hughes" she laughed before my face reddened and I laughed with her.
Yes it is.
I glanced back at her and she was grinning now we were both turned to each other before she broke the silence.
She ran her hand along my cheek and smiled lightly I leaned into her touch and smiled back at her before she rested her head on my shoulder.
"I don't understand how you did it that day." She stated puzzled.
"Did what?"
"You knew everything to say, how to calm me down... no one just knows how do that for me."
My heart aches for my poor girl, I knew her break up last year with a certain NHL player wasn't the best but she really was perfect and deserved all the good in the world.
"For what it's worth I would do it again"
She smiled up at me and laugh lightly.
"Only if you weren't Trevor's best-friend."
"Only if you weren't Trevor's sister"
After that moment you fell into a comfortable silence and I began to think watching the mountains and ice in-front of me. I looked over and she was doing the same falling deep into thought.
"I'm going to your next game ya know" I smiled at those words
"Oh really, are you going to be rocking my number or should I be worried about another guy" I joked before she laugh and my heart basically jumped out of my chest.
"I'll wear your number...or maybe I'll wear Luke's" I nudged her before she spoke again.
"I'm sitting with your dad and Trev" I nodded
"My dad loves you" she smiled
"What can I say I have that effect."
With that she stood up and smiled down at me.
"Want to do me a huge favor will you take a photo of my skating, even if I fall."
"You won't fall, and of course." I grabbed her phone as our finger tips brushed against each other and she skated off. ____________________________________ Word count: 680
