Today I have Acdameny training at 8am, its the last day before the reaping. I'm so excited because today they choose who is volunteering this year, hopefully it's me I wanna go so bad
I take a shower and get dressed into some workout clothes before going down stairs to the kitchen where Gloss was cooking breakfast
"Morning" I say to my uncle who was cooking some eggs and bacon as I come down the stairs all ready for the day
"Morning you ready for today we get to announce the volunteers for this year" he says trying to get me excited for today as my aunt walks into the kitchen
"Yes I'm so ready i hope I get picked I've been waiting forever to get picked and I've been working so hard" I say stealing a piece of already done bacon as my uncle starts to yell at me as I run to my aunt
"I think you have a good chance this year Connie don't worry you'll be just fine" Cashmere says laughing at us as she gives me a hug

We've finished our breakfast and I got ready for training nothing crazy because we're gonna be picking the tributes who are gonna volunteer this year so I just throw on black leggings that have like gray camo on them and then a black sports bra because after we pick the tributes were gonna be training
I put on my shoes which are just black converse and grab my water bottle and head out the door, my aunt and uncle already left about 10 minutes ago
It's a little bit of a walk from victors village to the academy since it's in the back of the district cause it connects districts 1 and 2
I finally make it to the academy and see my 4 best friends waiting for me Marvel, Glimmer, Clove, and Cato
Cato and Clove are from 2 so we can only hangout during training so I'm closer to Marvel and Glimmer then them but not by much
I've had a crush on Cato for a long while since we were 8 when they got enrolled into the academy and I hope he doesn't know cause that would be a little awkward since he's my best friend
"Hey guys" I says walking up to them and we head to our locker room to put our stuff down and our lockers
"Hey connie" they say at once
"Are you excited for today" Marvel asks
"Hell yeah but kinda nervous cause I'm scared I'm not gonna get picked"
"Girl same I really wanna be picked" Clove says
Once we set our stuff down we gather around the the victors as they will tell us who's volunteering this year
"Hello everyone I'm not gonna waste your time we're gonna go ahead and tell you who we've picked" The female mentor for district 2 Enobaria says
"District 1 male is Marvel Stanford" Gloss says and Marvel smiles at me and I return it
"District 1 Female is Constance Tanner" Cashmere says and me and Marvel hug with smiles on our faces and my aunt and uncle smile at me
"District 2 Male is Cato Hadley" the male mentor for district 2 Brutus says and Cato smiles and gloats
"District 2 Female is Clove Kentwell" Enobaria says as Clove and Cato hug and then Me and Clove and Marvel and Cato hug and then me and Cato hug
"Ok you are all dismissed to go train for the next hour make it count" and the mentors walk away
"Bro I can't believe we're going into the games I've been waiting my whole life for this moment" I say proudly
"Me too I so excited" Clove says as we all go to our respective stations Cato goes to the swords, Marvel goes to Spears, Clove and I go to the throwing knives
There's enough for both of us to have 4 and 2 targets so we go side by side to practice, we spin and throw insync, we both hit it where we're supposed to and smile proudly

After a few hours of doing that we get dismissed by our mentors so we could go home and get good sleep for tomorrow
I walk home with Marvel since he doesn't live far from victors village and I drop him off at his house before going to mine
"Goodnight con" Marvel says before opening the door to walk in
"Goodnight Marv" I said as he walks in and I start the short walk to my house hopeing that aunt Cashmere made dinner

After dinner I go upstairs to my room to get ready for bed, I brush my teeth before putting on my pajamas and going to sleep
