Pictures can tell a story,
It captures details,
That are forever stuck in time.
Sometimes details even unbeknownst,
To the subjects of the image.
I look back at our photos,
All the memories we shared,
Wishing with intense desire,
I could be go go relive those moments,
The ones forever stuck in time.
However I can see it now,
When everything had changed.

You stopped looking at me,
Never looking at my eyes,
But always at the camera,
With a fake smile plastered on.
You didn't push your face to mine,
or put your arm around my shoulder.
You just took a shot,
To keep the facade going on.
I never noticed these details,
Too naive to trust my gut.
I just pretended it was fine,
until our lips met for that final time.

I knew that day would be our last,
Kiss we would ever share.
Even if I didn't admit it right there,
Because I truly wanted to believe,
You would change your mind,
And come back for me.
You didn't come back,
You found someone new,
And I want to be happy for you.

I can't though,
I can't bear to see you with him,
Seeing you laugh in videos,
With a real smile,
With someone who isn't me.
Those shall now live on,
New photos and new memories.
And hopefully one day,
I can move on too,
And create photos with someone,
Who smiles like how you use to look at me.
