Ramen

I opened up the kitchen cupboard,
And to my dismay,
There is no cereal left.
A quick easy meal, that I always enjoy.
I look around the kitchen,
trying to find a meal,
that will satisfy my hunger.
Then I see the ramen package.
Its distinct bright orange packet.
I decide this will do.
But then I start to make it,
In the way you taught me.
I thought about all the spices you'd put in,
The way you'd give me the broth,
When I was sick.
How yours always tasted so much better,
than any attempt I had before.
That's when I decide.
Id rather eat shitty ramen,
than make it the way you taught me.
Even if it's better,
the hurt will still come the same.
So I will eat this shitty ramen in peace,
And not think of all our shared memories,
in this kitchen, today.
