The Chemistry Class

Tighnari 

Tighnari was sitting in chemistry class, bored out of his mind. He was without a partner, without the right materials for the upcoming experiment, and he was tired out of his mind. The one person he wanted to work with was sitting in front of him, and he was with Albedo. Tighnari couldn't help but feel his cheeks grow warm as he thought about Cyno.

Don't be stupid Tighnari! Tighnari scolded himself. Just stay calm, there's no chance Albedo will be absent when the experiment day comes. If it does happen...

His head shot up. CRAP! Albedo will be absent when the experiment day comes!! Act normal!  You've spoken with him before, don't act weird!!

Cyno was telling Albedo terrible jokes as the chemistry lecture continued. Tighnari couldn't help but cringe at them. Cyno's jokes were awful, but he had to listen to them.

One of his most famous jokes was 'Which creature has the worst personal hygiene in all of Teyvat? Cryo slimes. Why? Because they always bounce on top of the water and never go in for a bath.'

The room would always go quiet with disapproval or amusement of how terrible that joke was. Tighnari wanted to be logical, and tell him that the water could just be heated, but Cyno wouldn't take it.

Tighnari continued to stare at the back of Cyno's head, his face growing warm.

Oh, archons. He can't be that cute. Tighnari had never seen Cyno's whole face before. Why does he cover up half his face with his hair?

Though Cyno did many things that were often dumb or questionable, Tighnari couldn't help but love them.

"Cyno. Albedo. Pay attention!" Ms. Clorinde snapped at them.

"Sorry." They said in unison, holding in their laughter. They never took this class seriously, and that made Ms. Clorinde pissed. She stared at them for a few moments before returning to her lecture.

Cyno reached his hand back and passed a note to Tighnari. His heart pounded when the note was placed on the desk. He unfolded it to find another dumb joke. Why shouldn't you trust tees? Because they always seem shady.

Tighnari couldn't help but facepalm. He laughed to himself and shook his head.

That...is the dumbest joke I've ever heard. Tighnari heard Cyno laughing quietly. He turned around.

"Did you like it?" Cyno asked, in a whisper-ish voice.

"Pay attention." Tighnari whisper shouted.

"Did you like my joke?" Cyno asked.

"No." Tighnari sighed. Cyno smiled and turned back to the board, passing another note back to Tighnari.

What's this? Another joke. He scoffed. The note simply just had a smiley face on it, with a beaker doodle in the corner.

The bell rang, signaling the end of the class. He sighed, finally free from Ms. Clorinde's horribly boring lectures.

Albedo had already left the class, but Cyno was waiting by the door. Tighnari walked out of class, but felt his backpack get grabbed.

"Cyno. Let go of me." He tried pulling away.

"No." Cyno smiled.

"Let go of me." Tighnari tried pulling away again, but failed.

"Come on, just let me talk to you." Cyno pulled on Tighnari's backpack. Tighnari tripped while trying to escape Cyno's grasp, and pulled Cyno down with him. Tighnari fell on his back, staring at Cyno, who had fallen on top of him. Tighnari's face became red and hot when he felt their noses touching. Oh how perfect the time was.

Ms. Clorinde had walked out of the class just in time to see the awkward position they were in.

"Boys. Get to the office, now." She growled at them.

Cyno and Tighnari quickly got out of their humiliating situation and walked to the office. Tighnari hung his head lower, and Cyno covering his mouth, clearly embarrassed.

Oh archons what just happened. Tighnari replayed the scene in his mind, then remembered something .

I...I...I...I saw the other half of Cyno's face. His cheeks turned red and hot as he walked to the office.
