A Long Day

Ayato

Ayato sat at his desk, staring down the students in detention. As usual, it was always the same bunch for the same reasons. Xingqiu messed with Chongyun and they usually ended up doing something stupid. Heizou was up to something and trying to uncover the school's mysteries, in which Kazuha had to stop him often. Scaramouche and Aether were there too. Scaramouche was notorious for doing bad things, and Aether was dragged into them to make sure he didn't hurt himself.

Ayato sat at his desk, monitoring them. Detention was a reasonable punishment, but duration was unreasonable. From the time school ended at 3:00, detention lasted an hour. It wasn't only a punishment for the students, but the teachers who had to watch them too. Teachers were strictly told that they had to watch the students, and only watch the students. No grading, no checking emails, nothing.

Ayato sighed, begging for the day to end. Suddenly, a voice came over the speakers. It was Mr. Zhongli's voice. Though the speakers needed to be replaced, the voice was audible.

"All students in detention may be released now. The next time you get in trouble for the same actions, the consequences will be worse." He ended the announcement. Ayato turned his attention to the students he was looking after to find them gone.

I'm not even sure they stayed to hear the second part. He sighed. "Sometimes, teenagers scare the living shit out of me." Thoma  walked in and waved to Ayato.

"Good afternoon Mr. Kamisato." He smiled at him without hesitation.

"Thoma, what did I say?" He sighed and smiled along with Thoma.

"Oh, right. Sorry. Mr. Ayato." He laughed softly.

"Just Ayato."

"Oh?" A pink tint grew in Thoma's cheeks. Ayato smiled at the sight of his blushing face. He gave a soft laugh and stood up.

"Thoma, are you aware of your facial expression right now?" Ayato asked softly. Thoma shook his head, but he looked like he was about to add a half nod in the process. Ayato walked over to Thoma and got close to him... very close to him.

"M-Mr. Ayato!?" The blush in Thoma's cheeks darkened.

"Didn't I say you could call me Ayato?" He edged closer to Thoma. Thoma nodded, absolutely flustered. Ayato smiled at the sight of Thoma's face heating up.

"May I ask permission to do something... odd?"

"W-what is it Ayato?" Thoma's words were shaky.

"May I ask if I am allowed to give you a hug?" As he said those words, Thoma relaxed and  leaned on Ayato. They wrapped their arms around each other and stayed there.

This is nice. Ayato sighed. He's so warm... and charming... his smile is perfect... Maybe I should give him a little kiss...
