Sheik know something is wrong when he comes back from his usual training and found two men dragging Tsunami while Inari tries to stab a kitchen knife into their calf. He makes quick work of them before telling Inari to take his mother to a trustworthy neighbor and hide there. He then starts running for the bridge. He is doing exactly what Link will do; help.

So when he found Kakashi locked in battle with a large swordsman while screams of pain fills the air from a dome made of ice, he quickly uses the Purah Pad to summon a Sheikah Bomb. Sakura is screaming at him but Sheik has no time. He throws the bomb to the dome, causing the pink haired girl to shriek in horror, before detonating a few inches away from the dome. It works as he expected. He did this with Link all the time raiding monster camps.

The dome breaks and the boy, Sai, quickly pulls the other boy, Sasuke, out of the dome. Ice starts to follow them but Sheik punches the ground. This Sheikah art that the Yiga Blademaster always use makes little sense as it works even without an actual earth despite being called 'Earthwake'. But the best part is how the technique will continue to chase after the target before catching on and punching them sky high.

His target survived that.

Doesn't matter.

Sheik follows up with an aerial attack. His blade meets ice. Interesting. He will have to be creative. He teleports away from the icy needles coming for him and dashes forward while dodging the needles. It is a technique he practices when facing a Guardian during his journey with Link. Upon contact with ice once more, he slaps a Sheikah symbol on the target before dodging their following attack. Jumping high, he flashes forward.

The target gasps as the movement that follows were too fast for them to evade or block, causing them to be thrown back and right in the middle of battle between Kakashi and the man that must be the Zabuza that Sheik had heard them discuss about. Sheik swaps weapon. He pulls out a Phrenic Bow and shoots at Zabuza's feet, allowing Kakashi to follow up with his own attack. Zabuza's helper is still out from being knocked hard.

Zabuza curses, "Who the hell are you?!"

Sheik doesn't answer him, instead focuses on keeping him pinned from dealing one on one with Kakashi by shooting when needed. Although most of his adventures with Link weren't quiet, as expected of a Sheikah, Sheik knows when to speak and when to stay silent. A battle like this is one where silence help both unnerve his opponent and helps him focus. He moves around, teleporting here and there to snipe at Zabuza.

Before long, Kakashi deals a fatal blow on the man...right as the unconscious helper wakes up. The helper screams, "Zabuza-sama!!"

Kakashi pulls away his hand from Zabuza's chest to look at the wailing helper. Sheik lands on a railing, watching quietly. He knows well when a battle ends. These are not monsters, just people who targets other because of their contract with those that hired them. His ear then twitches at the sound of clapping. He teleports away, standing in front of Tazuna, silent.

So this man is Gato.

Upon the reveal of his intent to slay the Shinobi he hired instead of paying them, the grieving helper lost control and starts freezing the people hired by Gato before taking Gato's head. The helper then stops over Zabuza's body and takes it with them, snow and ice whirling all around them as they disappears without another word. Sheik watches it all, reviewing what he saw and what it means.

Inari then arrives with the whole island, or what remained, to help...

Sasuke approaches him that evening after having his injuries seen to, "How are you so strong?"

Sheik looks at him. Kurama grumbles within, "Typical Uchiha. Always power hungry,"

After a moment, Sheik arranges his words carefully, "Sheikah protects. Have to be strong. Other rely on Sheikah. Cannot fall. Cannot falter. We shield. We sword. Weapons. If fall, they die. So have to be strong. Must survive,"
