Sasuke stares at the sleeping Sheik. When Sheik said that he knows what was inside Gaara, it had confused Sasuke. Maybe, in Hyrule, Sheik is also like Gaara? But when he tried asking Jiraiya, the man told him to keep quiet about it because there are people in Konoha that must never know about Sheik. Which is an odd thing to request as it isn't like Sheik is hiding...right? He's just a foreigner visiting the Hidden Continent from a different continent because of his clan's tradition for spiritual journey, right?

But Jiraiya knows Sheik and keeps everything under wraps. Especially when Sheik is showing his full face. Even in the bath house, the few times they went there to clean up after a spar, Sheik will use a loose cloth to mask his face like Kakashi. Other than that one time where Sheik showed Sasuke his tattoos, Sasuke had never seen his cheeks exposed. Is he...hiding the odd whisker like lines on his cheeks? Weren't they just another set of tattoos from the Sheikah Clan? Because those lines are the only thing he's hiding under his high collars.

This is all so confusing.

After the fight ended and the invasion come to a close with the retreat of their invaders and the death of the old Hokage, Sheik had fallen unconscious and Jiraiya had told Sasuke to watch over the boy and to be wary of anyone visiting his home...as if trying to keep Sheik away from Konoha.

But why?

Jiraiya had also personally dealt with any injuries that Sheik had, even summoning a small Toad that can use Iryojutsu to heal Sheik instead of taking him to the hospital like a sane person. Everything was so suspicious. Even Kakashi had decided to camp at his home to watch over Sheik. He even created Kage Bunshin to disguise as them to attend the funerals. But asking Kakashi brought him no answer.

The man's tight lipped about Sheik.

Why?

What is so important about the whisker like marks on his cheeks?

Sasuke sighs, "When are you waking up?"

Jiraiya explained that perhaps summoning the giant Frog is extremely tiring for Sheik. He shows signs much like someone who had overused their chakra and drained of it. The only cure for that is to rest, thus the deep sleep. He also added that since Sheik is so far away from home and how this continent's ambient chakra is very different from Hyrule's ambient chakra, he will take longer to wake up.

It has been a week.

Sasuke scowls as he throws his back on the futon inside the cleaned room he has been sharing with Sheik and Kakashi. He knows that Sheik's time in Konoha is coming to an end. The boy is only here to gather his resources and to understand the way this continent work before setting out on his journey, continuing where he left off. He knows that once Sheik is awake, he will leave.

Sasuke frowns at the idea.

Surprisingly, he's gotten greedy.

Maybe because, after years of being alone and pushing others away, first because his clan is being pushed away for some reason, then because of the massacre, Sasuke had not realized just how lonely he was until Sheik appeared in his life and started to lead him out of the dark. Thinking of Sheik leaving...he feel's lonely.

Sasuke wakes up in the middle of the night, feeling thirsty. Looking around, Kakashi is not in the room. He quietly makes his way to the kitchen when he stops at the voice of Kakashi and Jiraiya. Somehow, he cannot help but listen in;

Kakashi sighs, "So...is he leaving with you?"

Jiraiya hums, "Only for the first few weeks, just to get the hang of things,"

"How long will he here...on this land?"

"Depends. Sheik isn't sure how long it will take him until he receives another vision allowing him home,"
