The Prince's story

The Journey Part 1

Poppy's POV

After having a quick routine check, we were all ready to go. I put on my backpack and so did the rest. We just stood there. It took a while before I realized that everyone was staring at me. I looked back at them with a confused face when someone spoke up.

"Uhm.... Poppy aren't you meant to uhm... you know lead us to the place," Creek asked.

"Oh yeah, but I don't remember where it was, and I knew this was going to happen so I asked Branch to mark the spot on the troll's map. Right Branch." I asked.

"Right," Branch said sounding sad about something.

Maybe I should ask him why he sounds sad. But he always wanted to talk to me in private but now he probably can't talk to me personally after what happened with the snackpack.

"Okay so everyone ready?" I asked one final time.

"Ready!" they all answered except for Branch as he was so lost in thought.

I helped Branch snap back into reality and Branch led the way. As we were on our way, there were a lot of FRUSTATING and DISTRACTING things that happened and I guess I have time to name all of them. THEY WERE:

1) We stopped to catch our breath.

2) We stopped to eat.

3) We stopped because Satin and Chenille got into an argument.

4) We stopped because Creek and Branch got into a fight.

5) We stopped because Biggie said that he needed to re-feed Mr Dinkles.

6)We stopped to have a pee break. Just to let you all wattpaders out there know, that was only the first two hours of our journey. Besides all these weird thing I noticed that the more we got closer the more anxious Branch became. Well I could speak for him to say those are just little jitters in him. He's probably nervous that's all. I mean that happened when we had to meet the other kingdoms at the WORLD TOUR EVENT. Brings back good memories.

Hours passed as we walked and walked. Branch told me that the journey was meant to be for 12 hours but we luckily walked half of it, even with all the distractions. By the way when I mean half of it, I mean 6 hours. It was now 6am and since it was still a little bright we decided to find a place to rest. We set up a camp and laid all our essentials out before we took out our sleeping bags to sleep.

I did not remember how long I slept but it seemed to be so short as I was still tired. What woke me up? I didn't remember as I was sleeping. That when I heard whimpering sounds next to me. BRANCH! He was sweating and shaking like he was having a night mare. Wait he was having a nightmare! I tried to wake him up but he seemed like he was stuck in the nightmare. That when I just decides to put my hand on his head to check his temperature. He was burning. But I noticed something else. As I placed my hand on his forehead, he seemed to calm down. I left my hand on his head for what seemed to be five minutes and he had completely calmed down. I laid down next to him as I was still sleepy and I slept.

My dream was really short as I got interrupted by someone tapping me on my shoulder.

"What?" I asked on an annoyed voice as I saw al the snackpack except Creek grinning at me. Creek was just looking at random rock trying to channel all his anger onto it. Why was he angry. Well it was not like I cared anyway. I laid back down until Guy Diamond made me jerk back up with a bull horn he got out of nowhere.

"What is it for the last frosting time?" I screamed as I gave them angry looks.

"Look to your right" Smidge said suspiciously.

I turned to my right to see BRANCH. He was sleeping peacefully as he was sleeping beside me. Wait I went over to him when he was having a nightmare so I came over o him. Okay, that made sense. I was still lost in thought when I felt someone next to me move. Branch was probably waking up. I didn't know what to do and the snackpack were already filming this and giggling. My cheeks went on fire when Branch's face looked straight directly at mine. I guess he got too embarrased that he had to go take a walk.

I ran over to him as fast as I could.

"Branch sorry about th-" I said as soon as I caught up with him.

"It's fine, when I lay next to someone I'm comfortable with it helps me with my nightmares." he replied while staring at the ground.

"You never told me you had nightmares?" I asked.

"When I was lost in thought that was when I was thinking of how I should tell you." he was still looking at the floor.

"Well is it ok if you talk to me about that later." I asked.

"Yeah it's okay." he said then he said something that I was shocked that he would have said;" Well thanks for helping me with my nightmare."

"Your welcome." I replied with a weird voice which made both of us laugh then we started making our way back to out camp.

Everyone including Creek were giving us strange looks until I said "We uhm settled it between us so uhm we're fine I guess."

Smidge gave me a smirk but I just ignore her. We all packed up our stuffs getting ready to walk for six more hours. Branch told us that it was now 7am and we rested for an hour which wasn't so bad. He also told us that if were to repeat the same distractions we performed yesterday we would arrive our destination at approximately 1pm-2pm. We were all satisfied and were all ready to leave. But these thoughts would not leave my head.

"Are the trolls we are meeting bad?"

"Why did they not want to join Trolltopia?"
