Tears hardened to my face. "I can't anymore." I said. "I can't." People banged on the door. "Ashton, let us in." I shook my head. "Goodbye."
•Present May 1, 2010•
I sat in the passenger seat of my mom's car quite. "Do I need to go in?" I asked."Ashton it's been a week. You need to face the problem not hide from it." She said.
I had the perfect reason for not going to school for a week it was because I tried again, and again, and again. You could call it an addiction but I think of it as a pass time activity. "Mom, they said I couldn't go back for another week."
She shook her head. "Ashton, they didn't say that. They said you would need a week to adjust back to being there." I sighed.
"Mom, you and I both know that they will all make fun of me. And no one will be defunding me anyways."
She shook her head. "What about Luke?" I shook my head.
"He stopped being my friend a long time ago mom." I said.
"Fine. Then Calum." I shook my head. "Michael?" I shook my head again.
"Mom, I don't have anyone. I don't have friends." She sighed stopping in front of my school.
"Come on try and have a good day. It's almost graduation. Only another week to go." I nodded.
"Another fucking week of torture." She shook her head.
"Language. And get in there before you're late." I looked at the school.
"Here we go." I said getting out of the car.

I stood at the doors of the school looking into the long hallway that was full of kids. I looked back to see my mom's car still sitting there. I could see my mom watching me. She waved her hand in a motion telling me to go in. I breathed in and pulled the door open. As I walked past people they stopped talking and watched me."He's not dead." I heard people whisper. "Go try again Irwin!" Someone yelled. I could feel tears come to my eyes. I looked over to the crowds of people and saw Luke. He looked away. I looked down and kept walking. I ran down the hall to get away from the people. I then darted to my locker.
I stood there at my locker. I grabbed my books and as I began to close it some grabbed the edge of it. I closed my eyes and looked toward the person.
"Thought you actually did it this time Irwin." It was Calum.
"Fuck off." I said. He grabbed my wrist and rolled my sleeve up.
"Look at this. He's addicted to this shit." He laughed.
"Calum! James!" We all turned our heads. "Get to class." Calum and James ran down the hall to their class. "Ashton," the principle said walking towards me.
"Yes?" I said rolling my sleeves back down.
"Come to my office after school tomorrow. We need to talk." I nodded. "Get to class." I nodded running down the hall.

I sat there in English my head down and I knew there were eyes watching me. There were people whispering to each other about me."Mr. Irwin!" My teacher called out. I looked up.
"Yes." The whole class laughed. I lowered my head down.
"Now class." My teacher said. "Ashton, what is the name of this play you will be reading a excerpt from." I looked down on the packet.
"Romeo and Juliet." I said.
"Now read." I opened the packet to the first page. I read it aloud. Kids began to laugh when I pronounced one word wrong. I kept reading until the bell rang. Everyone stood up around me. I stayed seated. My teacher walked up to me.
"Mr. Irwin, I know you haven't been here but we need to talk about some things." I nodded.
"And that is sir." I said looking him in the eye.
"You need to know that what you did to yourself is not the answer." He sat in the desk next to me.
"Does everyone know about this?" I said. He shook his head. "It's only between me and the teachers." I nodded. "Get home Irwin. Be prepared for class tomorrow." I stood up and walked out.

I walked to my mom's car my head down and holding my sleeves over my hands. As I sat in the seat of the car my mom smiled."How was it?" I looked at her.
"Fucking sucked." I said.
"It'll get better." She said. "It'll get better."
