Bad habits.

The first time this happened was when Kaeya was 6. All alone, abandoned.

"Father.. *hic* hungry.. so hungry.."

Often times when Kaeya was young, his parents would often forget to feed him. Kaeya would often cry in his room alone starving. "Kaeya you look pale. Have you eaten anything?"-Kaeyas father, Kaeya shaked his head. "Ah, I forgot to give you food yesterday didn't I. Sorry Kaeya, here.. uh, have this."-Kaeyas father gave him some snacks. Kaeya gladly took it and ran back to his room to eat.

The following years of Kaeya growing up, it would bother him how his parents would forget to feed him all the time but, over time he got used to it. It started becoming a habit, Kaeya himself would forget to eat too. He'd go to school, come back and sleep until his stomach would rumble loudly, only then realised that he hadn't eaten. Whenever Kaeya felt hungry, he would go around the house scouting for food. It would be troublesome to ask his parents anyways. Often, he'd store left overs of.. almost anything he'd find in the house in his room and save them for an emergency, in case he ever starvs.

It was a stormy night where Kaeya was dropped off under a tree. "Father, where are you going?!"-Kaeya cried out tugging onto his father's sleeves,

"Forgive me, Kaeya. This is where you must stay. You are our only hope."

And with that, his father left him. Abandoned him. All alone with nothing. "I don't understand.. I didn't ask for anything so how- why.. please come back father.." Kaeya sobbed as he stood there. After 30 minutes or so had passed, Kaeya looked around to find some shelter, it was dark and cold.. but he moved on forward, it had been an hour, he was so hungry.. his stomach growling. After a little while, he decided to rest under a tree slowly falling asleep in the rain.

The following morning, Kaeya woke up to a man carrying him, "uhnn.. huh..?" Kaeya slowly opened his eyes, head throbbing probably due to the rain. Kaeya couldn't fully process what was happening as he fell back unconscious.

"Father! Adelinde! He's waking up!"-? "Shh, be quiet Diluc, we don't wanna scare him."-? Kaeya slowly opened his eyes seeing 3 unfamiliar people in front of him. One of them was a man, with red hair, the other was a woman in a maid outfit and finally, there was a small boy around Kaeyas age staring at him. "H- waahh!-" Kaeya shouted, clearly startled he sat up and backed away hitting the wall. "Sorry little guy, we didn't mean to scare you.. don't worry, we're not gonna hurt you" the man said in a soft tone, Kaeya was still suspicious of him hiding himself with the blanket that was given to him while he was asleep. "Where are your parents? Do you know where they are?"-said the man. "Um.. I..- I don't.. know.." Kaeya mumbled looking sad, "ah, I see. *So his parents just left their kid out in the rain at night? Cruel..*"-the man thought, "then.. why not stay with us?"-the younger boy suggested, "stay.. with you..?"-Kaeya tilted his head in confusion "mhmm! Can we keep him father? Pleaseee!"-the younger man looked at his father with a pleaded face. "I- hm, why not?"-the man said with a smile, "Adelinde, could you run the bath with hot water?" "Of course, Master Crepus."-the woman replied, going out if the room. "So, what your name? I'm Diluc Ragvinder! But, you can just call me Diluc!"-the young boy- no. Diluc said with a smile. "Uh.. I'm.. K-kae..ya.."-Kaeya stuttered, "we look around the same age! How old are you?"-Diluc, "I'm.. 6."-Kaeya, "no way! I'm 6 too! When's your birthday?"-Diluc asked with excitement, "I.. my birthday is on.. 30 November.."-Kaeya, "that means I'm older! I'm born on the 30th of April! Haha! That means I'm your older brother then!"-Diluc said happily climbing onto the bed, "older.. brother..?"-Kaeya, "mhmm! I'm your older brother and your my younger brother! I've always wanted a younger brother!"-Diluc said happily going closer to Kaeya making him startled, "wait, Diluc.. maybe give him some space for now?"-Crepus held Diluc back, "oh, hehe.. sorry.. I got a bit too excited"-Diluc chuckled. Kaeya stared back at him, confused.. but felt.. safe?
