Two Months Later, Present Day.
"Melody." Melody stood by her locker, taking out books. "Melody?" She started zoning out, thinking about her last encounter with her mother, but still picking up books as if her body was on auto-pilot. "Mel!" A deep voice called from behind Melody, bringing her back to reality.
Melody jumped and turned around, only to see Miles' parents behind her. "Mr. and Mrs. Morales, hi! Sorry, I was zoning out," she nervously chuckled. "That's alright honey," Rio smiled. "Have you seen Miles? We're supposed to have a meeting with his dean just now." Melody's eyes widened. 'Crap, I forgot about that.' "He's somewhere around campus...or maybe he went to order the cake for later already!" she lied. She had absolutely no idea where that boy was. She observed how disappointed Rio and Jeff looked. She stammered, "Uh- I'll go look for him for you guys! You can go to the dean's office by the time and let her know. It shouldn't take long!" Rio smiled sweetly, expressing her gratitude for Melody.
After Rio and Jeff walked away, Melody sprinted to Miles' dorm room. She aggressively knocked on the door, waiting for Miles to answer. The door opened, but it wasn't Miles on the other side, it was Ganke. "Hey, Melod-" "Where's Miles?!" she panted. Ganke let Melody in, walking backwards to the bed, "No clue. He told me he was going for an early swing and just...left." Melody groaned, rolling her eyes. "I'll go find him." Melody said, turning on her spider-suit and jumped out Ganke's window. Ganke just stared at the whole scene, still in disbelief how he knows Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider.
While all of this was going down, Miles was busy swinging through Brooklyn. There's nothing more relaxing than going around the busy streets of Brooklyn on a Friday morning, am I right? He swung around, making his way to a small grocery.
A grocery that a peculiar black-and-white spotted...thing was in.
It walked in, wearing a long grey sweater, hat and glasses, greeting the man at the cash register. "Excuse me, do you have an ATM machine?" it asked. "Around there in the back," the man replied in a heavy Jamaican accent, not noticing the tall male-like black and white figure walking back. The thing made his way to the back of the store, trying to steal money from the ATM. He took one of the black holes from his body and placed it on the front of the ATM, which was supposed to act as a portal for his hand. After four tries, his hand was stuck inside. He aggressively tried to yank out his hand, which only caused more stress.
Another hole opened up, below the ATM.
Half of the ATM ended up outside of the grocery. That's when the Jamaican man noticed the strange behaviours going on inside his store. "Yo, what you doing back there, man?" He asked, picking up a bat and walking towards the thing.
The Thing was getting chased down by the Jamaican man, trying to avoid getting whacked in the head by his bat. Meanwhile, Miles quietly entered the store, picking up a Jamaican Patty and putting it in the microwave.
Still prancing around the store, The Thing accidentally got his foot stuck in one of his holes...which somehow caused ANOTHER black hole to pop up right in front of the Jamaican man, take the bat, and hit him with his own bat, knocking him down. "I'm so sorry..." The Thing apologized. He continued, "First of all, I'm not even robbing you! This ATM machines doesn't even belong to you! This belongs to the bank, they're the real criminals." "You're the criminal! You're robbing me!" The Jamaican man yelled.
The Thing rambled about how his appearance made him lose his job, so he had to turn to a life of crime.
Miles interrupted him.
"Why do people say 'ATM machine'?"
"Huh? Who said that?!" The Thing frantically looked around, only to see Mile-...Spider-Man hanging upside-down from the ceiling.
