The Confession

Hartley had been keeping her feelings for her best friend Amy a secret for what felt like forever. Every time she tried to work up the courage to tell Amy how she felt, something always held her back. But as they sat in Amy's living room Hartley knew she couldn't keep it in any longer.
"Hey Amy, I have something I really need to tell you," Hartley said nervously.
Amy turned to her with a curious look, "What's up?" Taking a deep breath, Hartley blurted out, "I like you...more than just a friend. I've been feeling this way for a while now and I couldn't keep it in any longer."

Amy's eyes widened in surprise as she processed Hartley's confession. After a moment of silence, she smiled softly and reached for Hartley's hand. "Hartley, I had no idea you felt this way. I've been feeling the same way too," Amy said with a hint of relief in her voice.
Hartley couldn't believe what she was hearing. She had been so worried about ruining their friendship, but it seemed like Amy felt the same way. They both laughed and hugged each other as the weight of their unspoken feelings lifted off their shoulders. From that day on, Hartley and Amy's relationship  blossomed into something deeper and more meaningful.
They both realized that the love they had for each other as friends had grown into something even more special. And as they sat in Amy's living room , basking in there happiness , they both knew that telling the truth had been the best thing they could have done.
