I ship them a lot and think there is a really-romantic-potential-love story that can develop between them. Here's an attempt at exploring that.

Context:
The story commences after the end of the Fourth Great Ninja War.
Sakura's side of the tale:
With Tsunade's retirement, the management of the hospital was entrusted to Shizune as the chief Medic, with Sakura as her right-hand woman. By this time, Sakura had established herself as the village's strongest Kunoichi, radiating brilliance, beauty, and exceptional proficiency in medical ninjutsu.
Sasuke left the village in search of redemption after he was released from captivity. His past crimes, coupled with the dreaded Uchiha name, made settling in the village a daunting task. Sakura, who has catered the feelings of love for Sasuke since they were kids, was forlorn with his departure. Despite her pleas to accompany him, Sasuke insisted that his redemption was a personal journey unrelated to her. He apologized to Sakura for all his heinous acts that hurt her and left the village for good.
