SEBASTIAN'S P.O.V.
"Just an hour, I promise," I say as I toss Ominis the cloak on his bed. "I know you want to cram in a bit more studying for whatever you said it was. But this is a perfect opportunity to go check up on your crush, yeah? What could go wrong?"
"You do know that it's against the rules to go wandering off campus," he sighs as he pulls the cloak over his body. "Besides, Y/N isn't my crush. We're just-"
"Who said anything about Y/N," I smirk mischievously at him.
"Shut up," he grunts.
"Come on," I chuckle, rolling my eyes. "Let's just go already."
"Fine," he groans, "But I swear if we get caught-"
"We won't," I say as the two of us make our way towards the door. "We'll be quiet and make our way to the forest easy-peasy."
And I kept my promise, too. We arrived at the party without a hitch and started looking around for the other Slytherins at the party, as well as Y/N. Together, Ominis and I make our way through the crowd. It doesn't take me long, but eventually, I spot her in the middle of the party with Garreth Weasley's hands all over her. I try not to react too much to cause suspicion from Ominis, but when I stop dead in my tracks at the sight I know will cause my friend's heart to break, he catches on.
"What is it?" he asks. "Did you find her?"
"Uh, yeah, she's dancing with her Ravenclaw friends," I lie to him.
"I didn't know they were so close," he murmurs under his breath. "I hope she's having fun."
"I don't know about her but I'd be having a lot more fun if you'd quit talking and keep moving," I whisper as I nudge him forward. I know it's harsh, but I don't want him to get any ideas about walking over there.
"We should be polite and say hello. I don't think her friends much care for-"
"I've already lost track of them," I continue to lie. "Let's just get a drink."
"You're lying," Ominis calls me out. I gulp hard, but I don't let him catch me that easily.
"No, I'm not," I say, trying to hide the shake in my voice. "Why would I lie?"
"I don't know," he replies. "Maybe she's with someone."
"With someone? She's only been here for two weeks, you know. I don't think she's got a boyfriend that quickly."
"I didn't say she had. But I have a feeling that you're not telling me the truth. Was she at least wearing the necklace I gave her?"
With a sigh, I stop and look back. I can see her perfectly from this view. She's got a big smile on her face as she wraps her arms around Garreth. But there's no necklace on her chest.
"Yeah," I lie, turning back to my friend. "She's got the necklace."
