Author's POV:

Pratha was helping her older sister, Shraddha, get ready. The living room was bustling — relatives whispering, the smell of tea brewing, and a quiet tension that always came with marriage proposals. Anika, their mother, stood nearby, arms crossed, her expression a mix of frustration and hope.

"Look," Anika began sternly, "I'm giving you a final warning. There shouldn't be any mistakes this time. Five marriage proposals came this month, but you rejected every single one of them."

Shraddha rolled her eyes as she adjusted her bangles. "Mom, the first one was too busy showing off his money to even notice who he was marrying. The second one? I could tell from his words that he was more interested in dowry than a wife. The third one... well, I didn't like him at all, so I told him I have a forgetfulness problem. And guess what? He actually believed it!"

Pratha couldn't help but laugh. "And the fourth one?" she asked, teasing.

"Oh, the fourth one lived in the same neighborhood I don't ever want to stay in. I need some distance, not a husband next door," Shraddha replied confidently.

Pratha tilted her head. "And the fifth one?" Shraddha paused for a moment. "Why did I reject the fifth one again?" Pratha burst out laughing. "Because he accidentally spilled tea on your saree, and you threatened him in front of everyone!"

Shraddha frowned. "He didn't spill it accidentally. He did it on purpose because he couldn't take his eyes off me." Anika let out a deep sigh, rubbing her forehead. "You two, just be quiet. Both of you sound so immature. And Pratha, listen carefully—if this proposal doesn't work out, I swear I won't eat a single thing for an entire month."

Pratha quickly nodded, trying to hold back another laugh. "Don't worry, Mom. I promise this relationship will work out this time. And dii," she turned to her sister with a playful smile, "please, don't mess things up again." Shraddha crossed her arms. "Okay, fine. But remember, I'm the older one here. I don't like being ordered around."

"Yes, dii, I understand," Pratha said sweetly. "Okay, cool," Shraddha replied with a little smirk. "Hmm, yeah... cool!" Pratha echoed, matching her tone with a grin.

Riya was furious. Even though Garv had already promised to handle the situation, she couldn't calm down. Her anger was boiling inside her — how could Keshav speak to her like that? For someone who had never even used a swear word in her life, Riya was now pacing around her room, muttering under her breath. "Would it be a sin to say a few bad words just once?" she whispered to herself, half-laughing, half-angry.

She looked at her phone and smirked. "Well, I have five fake IDs, and I don't even use them for anything. Might as well make good use of them tonight," she muttered, determination flashing in her eyes. "Aise hi thodi jaane dungi is bandar ko.. thukarake mera pyaar mera inteqaam dekhega kutta kamina," she whispered.
