Author's POV:

"Pratha, come quickly!" Shraddha called out from her room, her voice carrying a mix of excitement and nervousness. Pratha rushed in, her eyes immediately widening at the sight before her. Her sister sat in front of the mirror, dressed in a stunning bridal lehenga, her makeup perfectly done, her face glowing under the soft lights.

"I'm here, dii," Pratha said, grinning. "It's your wedding day, and look at you — all restless! Oh my god, who is this lady from the parlor? Where's my real sister?" she teased, laughing softly.

"Hmph, making fun of me on my big day?" Shraddha said, trying to sound serious but failing to hide her smile. "After today, I won't even come to meet you. Then you'll know how it feels."

"Aww, dii, you took that seriously?" Pratha said, stepping closer and holding her sister's hand. "You really look beautiful... honestly, like an angel."

Shraddha's lips curved into a soft smile. "Really? Thank you. And fine, since you've admitted that I look beautiful, I'll make sure to visit you after the wedding," she said, her tone light again.

Just then, their mother, Anika, entered the room, her eyes filled with pride and emotion. "Oh, my girls..." she whispered, looking at Shraddha in admiration. "My daughter looks so adorable today... may no one cast an evil eye on you."

"Thank you, Mom," Shraddha replied with a smile, her voice trembling just a little.

"Okay, enough of this emotional talk," Anika said suddenly, pulling out a small velvet box from the dresser. "Look at this..." Inside the box lay a beautiful, intricate necklace — golden with soft ruby stones that shimmered under the light.

Shraddha's eyes widened. "Mom... this is so beautiful." Anika smiled warmly. "Your grandmother wore it at her wedding. Now it's yours, my child." For a moment, the room fell silent — filled only with emotion, love, and the quiet understanding that something precious was changing.

"Mom, don't tell me I have to wear this old necklace..." Shraddha said, making a face as she looked at the intricate gold piece lying inside the box.

Anika smiled softly, clearly expecting that reaction. "Oh yes, absolutely. And it's not old, Shraddha," she said patiently. "It's a family necklace — my grandmother wore it at her wedding, then my mother, and then I wore it at mine. Now it's your turn." But Shraddha simply shook her head. "Mom, it doesn't match my outfit at all. Please, not this one." Anika sighed, though her eyes held a hint of amusement rather than anger. Without saying much, she gently closed the jewelry box and placed it back into the cupboard. "Fine. Maybe your sister will wear it at her wedding," she said quietly, her tone calm but filled with that familiar motherly weight of tradition.

Pratha, watching from a corner, smiled softly. She knew her mother wasn't upset — just a little nostalgic.

Meanwhile, in another part of the house, Riya was getting ready for the wedding. She stood in front of the mirror, adjusting her earrings with a proud little smile. "Hmm, you're looking really great today, Riya," she muttered to herself, striking a playful pose. "I hope no evil eye befalls you..." Her eyes sparkled as she picked up a pair of delicate earrings. "These earrings are so lovely," she said under her breath, admiring their shimmer. Then, spotting a ring on her dresser, she quickly slid it onto her finger.
