Let's get started...

Same that day...

Meera chuckled softly at his antics, her earlier emotions fading as warmth spread through her chest. 'You little charmer" she whispered, brushing a soft kiss against his chubby cheek. Her lipstick left a faint imprint on his skin, adding to the cuteness of the moment. Veer giggled in delight, his laughter infectious.

Vihan and Gayatri couldn't help but chuckle as well, the tension in the room dissolving. "Awww, that's just too adorable"  Gayatri remarked, her tone filled with affection.

Suddenly, Gayatri's phone rang, pulling her attention away. "Excuse me" she said with a polite smile and left the living room to take the call in private.

Now alone in the room with Meera and Veer, Vihan adjusted his posture, his tone growing professional yet gentle. "Meera ji, I think that concludes our interview,‖ he began. ―You've done well, and I believe you're the right person for this role. You'll need to move into the mansion tomorrow to begin taking care of Veer."

Meera blinked in mild surprise but quickly nodded, her expression resolute. "Thank you, Mr. Raichand. I'll be here by noon tomorrow and will take responsibility for Veer from then onwards."

She glanced down at the baby in her arms, only to find Veer's eyelids drooping. He was clearly losing the battle to stay awake. Smiling softly, she began patting his back in a rhythmic motion, her touch soothing. Once he was completely at ease, she carefully handed him over to Vihan, ensuring not to disturb his peaceful state.

Their hands brushed briefly during the exchange, and Meera glanced away, her cheeks warming slightly. Vihan noticed but chose to say nothing, simply cradling Veer with practiced ease.

"Thank you, Meera ji" Vihan said, his voice low but sincere.

"You're welcome" Meera replied softly.

With a final exchange of polite goodbyes, the two departed from the living room, each heading their separate ways— Meera to prepare for her new responsibilities and Vihan, his mind lingering briefly on the intriguing woman who had just entered his son's life.

After Meera departed from the mansion following the interview, Vihan carried a sleepy Veer to his room. Gently laying the little boy on his bed, Vihan pulled the warm duvet over him, ensuring Veer was snug and comfortable, sitting beside him, Vihan couldn't help but admire his son's innocent face, his features softened in sleep. Vihan sat beside him, his elbows resting on his knees as he admired his son's cherubic face. The memory of Veer's playful antics with Meera brought an unbidden chuckle to his lips as he recalled Veer's mischievous antics with Meera earlier.

"You naughty baby" he murmured fondly. He leaned back in the chair, his mind wandering. For a moment, he wondered if he'd made the right decision selecting Meera. She seemed capable and kind but was that enough?. The way the little one had clung to her and refused to let go was both amusing and endearing. What would have happened if I hadn't selected her for the job? Vihan thought briefly. Well, it doesn't matter now—she'll be here tomorrow., and time would reveal if she was truly the right fit for Veer.

After spending a few quiet moments simply watching over Veer, Vihan rose from the bed, careful not to disturb his son. With one last affectionate glance, he left the room and headed to his home office to tackle some pending tasks.

The weight of certain unresolved matters lingered on his mind, and he knew it was time to address them.

Later, during dinner, Vihan seized the opportunity to initiate a long-overdue conversation. Looking up from his plate, he addressed his parents, his tone serious but composed.

"Mom, Dad" he began, his voice steady, "I need to talk to you about something important."

Gayatri immediately set down her fork, concern evident in her expression. "What is it, Vihan? Is everything okay?"

"Yes, Mom, everything is fine‖, Vihan assured her. ―It's about Veer. I've been thinking... I want to take sole responsibility for Veer. I know you've never hesitated to care for him, and I'm deeply grateful for everything you do. But, Mom, Dad, he's my responsibility—not yours. You're both already so busy with work, and whatever time you have left goes to looking after him. I don't want to burden you any further. So... can I take full responsibility for Veer?  Of course, you'll always be there for him, but I want to experience this fully myself."

Gayatri exchanged a glance with her husband, Abhimanyu, before turning back to her son. "Beta, we don't mind looking after Veer. It's not a problem at all. Taking care of a child is a huge responsibility. Your father and I are only helping because we want to. We don't mind looking after Veer, beta..."

"I know, Mom, Vihan said gently, but Veer is my responsibility, not yours. You and Dad already have so much work, and whatever little time you get, you spend it with Veer. I don't want to burden you anymore."

Gayatri hesitated, her motherly instincts urging her to argue, but before she could respond, Abhimanyu spoke up "Vihan, he said, his voice tinged with pride, I understand what you're saying. And I think you're right. This responsibility should be yours"

"Thank you, Dad", Vihan said, his tone earnest. Vihan , Gayatri tries to interrupt but Vihan cut her off before "Please, Mom. Now that Meera is here to help, I think it's time. And honestly, I want you and Dad to have some alone time for yourselves too. Please, Mom."

Abhimanyu his father, chuckled and added, "Thank you, Vihan. Maybe now your mother will realize that I need her time too." His tone was mock-sulky, but the teasing glint in his eyes was unmistakable.

Gayatri: "Abhimanyu!‖ she shrieked, scandalized by his comment."

Both Vihan and his father burst out laughing, making Gayatri glare at them playfully.

Gayatri: "Alright, Vihan. If that's what you want, we'll support you. But promise me, if you ever need help, you won't hesitate to ask."

Vihan: (grinning) : "Thank you, Mom. I really appreciate it. Can I go ahead and start moving Veer's things into my room? I'll need to set up a small bed for him, too, so I can attach it to mine."

Gayatri and Abhimanyu exchanged smiles before Gayatri said warmly, "Of course, beta. After all, he's your son."

Abhimanyu nodded, adding, "We're proud of you, Vihan."

Vihan: "Thanks, Dad. Thanks, Mom."

Gayatri nodded, her maternal instincts already planning how she could still sneak in moments with her grandson.

That night, after arranging Veer's belongings in his room and setting up a small extended bed beside his bed, Vihan lay down with his son. Veer stirred in his sleep, snuggling closer to his father.

As Vihan wrapped an arm protectively around the little boy, he couldn't help but smile. Our journey begins now, champ, he whispered.

It was the first night in a long time that Vihan slept with a content heart, dreaming of the days to come.
