MOMMA BY CHOICE

Chapter 6

So, let's get started... 

After taking a nap in their rooms, it's now the time of evening. Gayatri is holding a cranky Veer as Meera isn't there. She's freshening up, and Veer and Vihan have woken up earlier from their nap. Not seeing her in the living room for quite some time, Veer is getting cranky. Vihan is irritating him further by softly poking his tummy and laughing at him.

Later, Meera comes after freshening up and sees Veer is on the verge of crying, while Vihan is annoying him. She moves into Veer's sight, who raises his hands for her to hold him. Meera holds him with a smile, and Veer looks towards her as if asking, "Where have you been, Bruhh? I was waiting for you",  Meera looks towards Gayatri in amusement and asks, "Mam, is Veer always like this?"

Gayatri replies with a chuckle, "No, Meera. He isn't like that at all with anyone apart from Vihan."

Veer looks towards Meera in complaint, and then looks towards Vihan, who is controlling his laugh seeing Veer's antics. Unable to control his laughter, he bursts out laughing, startling both Veer and Meera, who give him an "are you serious?" look. Meera playfully scolds Vihan, saying, "Vihan Ji, you're annoying Veer. That's really wrong, and on top of that, you've scared both Veer and me, isn't it, Veer?"

Veer, like understanding her, nods. Vihan looks baffled at her scolding and Veer siding towards her. Vihan then moves towards his mom and asks her to playfully scold Veer and Meera, saying, "Mom, these two are bothering me. You should scold them."

Gayatri participates in their game by looking towards Meera and Veer in playful anger and says, "Veer, Meera, what's going on? You two are making my son miserable."

Veer, being an innocent baby, thinks Gayatri is really angry at them. He starts crying loudly, startling everyone. He hides his face in Meera's chest and starts crying loudly. Vihan quickly went towards him and unknowingly encircles his arm around Meera and Veer, shushing him. Neither Meera nor Vihan notices his gesture, but Gayatri and Abhimanyu's gazes linger on them. With an subtle eye contact with each other, they decide to leave the trio to deal with each other.

"Hey, hey, it's okay, Veer", Vihan said softly, his tone soothing. He quickly moved closer, pulling Meera and Veer into his arms, trying to comfort the distressed child. "Veer, why are you crying, my baby? Dadda's here", he murmured, his voice low and gentle as he shushed Veer softly.

Vihan tries to call him, but Veer doesn't budge and cries even louder. 

Meera: "Baby... Dadi didn't scold you, baby. Dadi scolded me, didn't she? But you're such a sweet baby... no one can scold you, can they, Vihan Ji? See, Dadda is here."

Veer slowly brings his face out and looks towards Vihan.

Vihan's heart clenched seeing the red eyes and nose of Veer due to crying. Veer sobs badly but moves his head towards Vihan. Vihan thinks he wants to be carried. He raises his hands to take him from Meera, but Veer again cried loudly in protest.

Vihan says, "Okay baba, Okay... Meera will hold you, okay?" With slow steps, he wiped Veer's tears and rubbed his back. Veer's crying eventually stopped, pacified by his father and being in Meera's embrace. He slowly leaned his head towards Vihan, who scooted closer, unaware of the closeness between Meera and Vihan as both are concentrated on Veer now.

Veer slowly places his head on Vihan's chest but his hold on to Meera doesn't loosen. Eventually, Meera is in Vihan's embrace, and Veer's breathe gradually calms and he falls asleep in warmth.

Vihan feels a gaze on him and looks up from Veer, making eye contact with Meera. Their breath halts, realizing their closeness. Vihan instinctively tries to take a step back, but Meera holds his shirt to stop him because Veer's head is on his chest. The touch sends shivers down both their bodies. Vihan slowly lifts Veer's head and places it on her bosom. While his hands brush her breast, she audibly gasps, and Vihan takes a step back quickly. Her cheeks turned red due to the sudden closeness, and Veer, unaware of the situation, places his open mouth on her bosom in sleep, making her eyes widen.

Vihan chuckles seeing her in such a state and gestures with his eyes for her to follow him. With a shy smile, she follows him. Entering his room, she lays Veer down and with fast steps, leaves his room without giving him a chance to speak.

Vihan looks at her with raised eyebrows but shakes his head, seeing her leave. He decides to tease her a little more and follows her.

On the other side, Meera reaches her room and shuts the door. Her breathing picks up, remembering everything that just happened. Her breath heaves rapidly, and she eventually sits on the bed to calm herself.

After few minutes, her breathing settles, but a knock on the door startles her. She shakes her head at her franticness and moves to open the door, finding Vihan leaning against it. She steps aside for him to enter, and he slowly enters her room with a gaze she cannot hold anymore.

V (in a husky voice): "Meera... what happened? Why did you run away from there?"

M (with widened eyes and blush on her face, shakes her head): "N-nothing... nothing happened. I just came here so that Veer could sleep peacefully..."

V: "Really? But why did it feel like you ran away from there and came here... hmmm?"

Vihan daringly took a step towards her, and she widened her eyes more at his behavior.

M: "No, no... nothing like that, Vihan Ji..."

V: "And it shouldn't be like this... You said you'd help me with Veer, right? So these situations could happen anytime. Veer doesn't like being away from me, and it seems he doesn't like being away from you either now... so you should get used to being around me, around my presence, hmm?"

M (with heavy breath): She nods.

V: Watching her every action, and seeing her bosoms heaving up and down, he says, "Words, Meera."

M (looking into his eyes, subtly provoking him): "Um-hmm, Vihan Ji."

Meera blushes heavily but remains silent. He, after a few moments to calm his racing heart, he pulled back and took her to her bed, making her comfortable and covering her with a duvet. With longing eyes, he moved to his own room, leaving her alone with a lingering feeling of intimacy between them.
