"PUSS!" Kitty shrieked, running to him as Scars' gravelly laughter echoed through the large hall.

She held his head steady in her paws, and he looked into her eyes as if he was witnessing a  supernova, something incomprehensibly beautiful.

"Oh, Puss," she whispered as her tears became waterfalls.

"Don't cry for me, mi bella reina. You are strong."

Kitty tried to suck up her tears, but she couldn't; she just couldn't.

"I love you so much, mi amor. More than anything in the universe. When I am in the company of God, I will think of nothing but you. I have to leave now. Take care of Maria." And then he was gone.

Scars coughed vehemently. He was smiling as Kitty stroked the top of Puss' head, planting a soft kiss on his icy lips. Scars then spoke quietly, and the words were haunting.

"It's over now."

Kitty drew her dagger, ran at the Master, and planted it through his heart all the way through to his spine.

He choked his final breaths, and then he was finally, truly dead.

Kitty kneeled in the middle of the two dead bodies, crying for hours as if the next day would never come.
