Hailey's POV
Thursday, 12:10p.m.

"You've been checking your phone an awful lot from morning, expecting something?" Ash asks, as we're seated around one of the tables at the cafe, eating lunch.

"No," I lie.

I have been expecting her to text, call, or something, but she hasn't. I put my phone face down on the table.

"Tell mi wah happen yesterday, cause mi see when him come pick yuh up," I raise my brows at the young girl before me. She blushes shyly, and I laugh.

"Who Yazade?" She asks, tucking her loose curl behind her hair.

"Yes girl, duh," I roll my eyes, and she stretches across the table and smacks my arm.

"Nun nuh happen," she blushes, and I hiss my teeth.

A wonda if clown print pon mi farrid and mi jus cya seet??

"Mi look like idiot doh?" I ask, and she smiles, taking a sip of her drink.

"Tubs, mi neva seh dat," she says, and I roll my eyes once more.

"Wah happen fi real?" I ask, resting both elbows on the table and resting my head on my hands.

"Bloodclaat gyal, yuh nuh res eno," she laughs.

"Mi did tell yuh mi tiad?" I ask, and she hisses.

"So, if you must know, cause yah mus mi man. We went to Ville, he got me Starbucks, caramel frap...my fave as you know. Then we guh burger King, girl mi come school with grand and guh home with 8 bills," she says excitedly.

"A lie, a mi alone nah gwaan wid nun," I laugh, and she lightly shoves my shoulder.

"Yes girl, he's so sweet too...real gentleman, him mother raise him good," she blushes as she looks up, obviously reminiscing.

"Love dat fi you sister gyal, yuh deserve it!" I smile, bumping her shoulder with mine.

A notification is heard, and I quickly scramble to pick up my phone...disappointingly, it's not her. It's an email. Rolling my eyes, I put the phone back down.

Vex like bull yah now eno.

"Girl, a who yah expect fi text or call yuh?" my best friend asks. Sipping some of her juice and eating the last of her fries.

"Not a soul," I hiss, and she drops the subject.

3:04p.m.
I have a science club to attend and for the first time ever I'm not in the mood to go. All this over a girl I just met...I don't even know her full name much more her last name.

Despite not wanting to go, I went. Walking through the door, it's all eyes on me, seeing that I am a few minutes late.

"Our president is here, at last," the vice president says, and I force a small smile.

"Good afternoon, everybody," I greet, taking my seat at the front.

"Proceed, you were doing fine," I encourage the vp. She nods and continues her proceedings.

A notification is heard on my phone. I apologize for the disruption. I'm in no mood or rush to check it. My only reason for taking out my phone is to put it on silent.

+1 (876) ***-****
Hey

With quirked brows, I hesitantly respond to the message.

Me: Hi?
+1 (876) ***-****: I'm sorry I'm just getting to you. I've been a little busy.
Me: Ria?
+1 (876) ***-****: expecting somebody else?

My face instantly lights up, I immediately forget that I'm upset with her. I save her number right away.
