"We can't take her to the hospital, you know that," one of my dad's men says, as he speeds down the road.

The silence in the car is unbearable. The thought of how her chatter would fill the silence of the night if she was okay breaks something in me. I never thought I'd miss her talking all the time. Her unconscious body is lays perfectly still in my arms, and in that moment, I'm unsure of how to feel.

I don't know where the time went, but we pull into the driveway, and doors are flug open. Men from inside rush outside with a stretcher. One man tries to pry the young girl from my grip.

"Miss Romanov, you have to let her go," I'm told, and I release my grip. My eyes itch, and my throat goes dry.

They disappear into the basement, where she's placed on a table. Without the urge to change or do anything as a matter of fact, I take a seat beside her bed as my father's private doctor does her thing. I gently hold on to her hand as I pray she'll be okay.

"She should be awake in an hour," she informs me, and I nod.

Hailey's POV
I'm dizzy, and my head hurts. Just as the pounding pain in my head subsides a little, I realize that my back hurts way worse than my head. I make an effort to sit up as my eyes are still foggy, and I'm unsure of what's happening. My eyes finally focus, and I can identify my surroundings or rather what's in my surroundings.

Weh d hell dis?

"Hailey?" The sound of my name brings my attention to the fact that my hand is being held.

Ria?

"You're awake," she continues. Standing beside the bed I'm on, she gently hugs me. I get a good look at her, and her eyes are red and puffy.

"Are you okay?" I question, and she puts on the best smile.

"Yeah, I'm good, you though? Not so much," she chuckles, kissing my forehead.

"I'm taking you home tonight, and I'll explain what happened another day, okay?" She says, and I'm confused, but I think I know better than to push for answers.

"Okay," I agree.

"I'll give you some pain meds," she says, and I nod.

I look down realizing I'm not in the dress anymore, in its place is a hospital gown, but I'm sure I'm not at the hospital.

"Come, I'll help you," she offers, her tone sweet and caring. She holds my hand, and I stand. The pain isn't as bad as it was initially, so it's easier to walk than I anticipated.

"If you're walking weird and anybody asks, you fell," she deadpans, and my curiosity peaks.

"What? Why? Did I really?" I ask, but none of my questions are answered.

"You fell, that's all people need to know. Is that understood?" She stops walking, as do I. She looks dead into my eyes, her once soft expression replaced with a more serious one.

"Understood," I agree, and we continue our walk.

I decide not to wake my mother. Instead, I use the spare key that is concealed in some blocks outside.

"Be safe," I hug the taller girl, smiling.

"I will, and you too," she says, kissing atop my head before watching me open the door and entering the house.

I head to my room, where I take two of the pills and head to bed.

6:25 a.m.
"Morning, mommy," I say, walking into the living room where my mother is seated watching smile Jamaica.
