"You should really get a girlfriend" Sarth said in between his heavy breaths while throwing the towel at his friend's face.

Mihit was too tired to catch it. He let the towel hit his face. He picked it up and started wiping his sweat with it. "Coming from the person who is only here with me so that he wouldn't need to accompany his girlfriend to shopping." He scoffed.

"At least, I still have someone to call my girlfriend. What about you? When was the last time you went on a date? In the last decade?" Sarth asked with a mocking smile.

"I just love being single." Mihit lay on the basketball ground with his limps spread creating a star shape.

Sarth sneered at the response, sipping the water. He sat down on the floor next to Mihit with his legs stretched outward. He dumped his duffle bag right to him.

Both Sarth and Mihit had been friends since childhood. Growing up in the same neighbourhood, they were really close to each other even though Sarth was two years older than the other.

They had a custom of playing basketball at least once every weekend since they were kids. Those two would always make sure to follow through it and have a game every week even if it is just the two of them.

They would meet up at the basketball ground near their neighbourhood and play a game or two. The winner and loser of the match didn't matter. It was only meant for entertainment and relaxation.

"What made you say that anyway?" Mihit asked looking at the starry sky.

"No reason, actually." Sarth too stared at the sky. "Maybe am just jealous of your freedom."

"My freedom?" Mihit asked with raised eyebrows.

"Yeah," Sarth chuckled in self mockery. "You can actually do whatever you want. Spend your money however you want. Go on vacations without restrictions and of course, you can eat whatever you want. I don't even remember the last time I had a pizza."

"In short, you want me to suffer because you are suffering from your relationship?" Mihit questioned.

"Kind of" Sarth replied with a cheeky smile.

"Asshole!" Mihit threw the sweaty towel at his neighbour.

Even though they had moved away to different places after high school. Their relationship never changed over the years.

"You know, the only advantage I used to see in being in this relationship was that I could get laid anytime I wanted to. But now, all I get is kisses. That too on cheeks! who wants to be kissed on his cheek!?" Sarth ranted.

"Then break up with her." Mihit groaned as he sat up.

"Huh?" Sarth felt that he heard something wrong. He wasn't expecting Mihit to say that.

"I said, you should break up with her if you are so fed up with her." Mihit reached out and picked up his silicone water bottle.

Taking a big sip of the water, he continued "If your aim was just to get laid, then you shouldn't have started this relationship in the first place. Moreover, I can smell how toxic your relationship is from miles away. So it would be better if you end things before it's too late."

Sarth sighed. His girlfriend, Kitty had been picky with everything he did nowadays. Starting from the dress he wore to the way he slept. Every single thing was monitored by her.

There were times when he should tell her off. But every time the thought crossed his mind, she would start crying. Being someone who didn't want to deal with all the emotional stuff, he would just give in every time.
