Hello Tillies,
It's Fluke week again😊. So, a week full of double updates for this story. I was actually supposed to update since yesterday but due to some personal issues, it was delayed. I would try to make up for that (If I manage to get time and also the idea of what to write.)
I know a few of you had suggested other stories to be mass-updated as well. I couldn't write all of them so I drew lots and selected Roundabout Way to you to update.
Hope you all enjoy reading.
Happy Fluke week. 🐥💙💙💙
"Of all people, why did you have to pair me up with that devil?" Mihit vented. "He is so damn picky about everything I do. Do you know how many times I had to redo my work?"
It was a Friday night, and the three friends Sarth, Mihit, and Bern were at a karaoke bar to unwind. They preferred karaoke bars over normal bars as both Sarth and Mihit had the habit of unleashing the inner Michael Jackson and would love to sing and dance like loose nuts.
The private rooms offered by the karaoke bars were better than embarrassing themselves in public.
"I can't even go home now! When I go home the first thing mom and dad have to ask me is about him! Mira is no less irritating! She too wants to know about her P' Ayut. How the hell am I supposed to answer all that?"
Bern mirrored Mihit's mood. Their project with Ayut's company had been a pain in their asses. It was so difficult for them to get approvals.
Only Sarth was not affected by the heat of the project. But he was affected by something else- Anwit, his fake boyfriend.
He was yet to tell Mihit or Bern about Anwit's offer partially because he was afraid that Mihit might kill him for creating a mess and leaving him behind and partially because of the clause of the agreement between him and Anwit.
Among all the clauses they agreed on, the most important one was that Sarth had to help Anwit bring Mihit and Ayut together as a couple. Anwit said that as long as Sarth managed to get Mihit and Ayut to date each other, he would be happy to put on an act as a loving boyfriend in front of the latter's family.
Sarth, in a spur of a moment, had agreed to the deal. Back then, he had felt like he had won the lottery when he heard that Anwit was willing to cooperate with him. But later, after all his excitement had calmed down he realized that he had actually jumped into the trap set by Anwit.
He didn't blame Anwit though. He knew that it was a good idea to link Mihit and Ayut up but the problem was the amount of animosity that the taller was showing towards the shorter.
"I am sure that he is not doing that on purpose." He tried to ease things up. "You know, Ayut~"
"You shut up!" Mihit was partially drunk. "You have no right to speak in front of me after putting me under the axe like this."
Sarth knew that it was best to shut his mouth as he was told.
The door of the karaoke room burst open, startling the three people in the room.
The bunch of people outside the door and ones inside the room stared at each other for a few seconds, until one of them smacked the guy who opened the door. "This is the wrong room, you idiot. Our room is upstairs!"
The smacked guy rubbed his head and rechecked the room number and realized his mistake. "Oh, you are right. We got off on the wrong floor." He turned towards the trio in the room. "We are sorry, Khrab."
He was just about to close the door when one of them stopped the door from closing and went inside the room to greet the trio.
"Ai Hit! P' Sa! Wadee! How have you guys been?" The guy asked.
He was one of Mihit and Sarth's friends whom they met via Kitty. He had often warned Sarth of Kitty's flirtish nature toward the male colleagues and keep an eye out. But Sarth never listened to him back then.
"Ai San! Wadee, dude! What are you doing here man!" Sarth was relieved by the interruption. He had been suffocated by the murderous aura Mihit had while they talked about Ayut.
Mihit too got up to greet San. He had a good impression of this guy. "Wadee, San."
San smiled at the two of them. "Our company is holding a small party upstairs. We all are here to get ourselves wasted for the night." He chuckled. His eyes fell on Bern who was looking at him as well. "You are..." He frowned, trying to remember where he had met this person. "You are Boyo's boyfriend, right?"
"Yes," Bern stood up and waied. "Bern."
"Wadee Bern, I am San na. But why are you guys sitting here? Why didn't you guys go upstairs? Boyo will be there."
That was when they remembered that San too worked in the radio station and was a colleague of both Kitty and Boyo.
Sarth's eyes flickered. Anwit had already texted him that he would be having a company gathering that evening. He didn't expect the company gathering to be at their regular karaoke bar.
"Erm... I don't think that would be appropriate." Bern scratched his neck. He wasn't sure if his girlfriend would be happy to see him crashing into their office party. "It's an office gathering after all."
"Au? You don't have to think of it like that. Just think of it as free booze." San chuckled at Bern's hesitation.
"Still..." Bern wanted to turn down the offer but was tempted by the mention of free alcohol.
"Our boss owns this place. So, this place is free. The company had booked a whole damn floor for us. They wouldn't even notice if you guys came." San added.
"Let's go then!" Sarth was the first to agree. He knew that Anwit would be there. He didn't want to lose an opportunity to be on the younger's good books.
San turned to Bern for an answer.
"Alright then, let's go." Bern agreed.
"Sweet!" San exclaimed. He wasn't the kind of person who got along with everyone. He only acted friendly with the people who came with him because they worked together. He preferred being friends with people like Sarth and Mihit, who were not two-faced. "Let's party!" He hooked his arms around Sarth and Bern.
"You go ahead, guys. I am not coming." Mihit sat back down.
"Au, why Hit? Don't be a spoiled sport na. Come with us," Sarth pouted.
"No. You guys enjoy," Mihit replied. He was in a bad mood and just wanted to relax. He hated such gatherings and parties. He would never want to attend one of them on his own account until and unless it was very necessary.
Plus, he knew that once they got there, Bern would go to his girlfriend and Sarth would most probably go to Anwit. Then, he will be left alone in between a bunch of strangers. He didn't want that to happen.
"It is really a shame na," San sighed dramatically. "If you would have come with us then you could have met with your idol." He peeked at Mihit whose attention he had successfully garnered. "It's really a shame that Hit will not get the chance to meet RJ Spear."
"What? RJ Spear will be there?" Mihit jolted in excitement. RJ Spear had always kept his identity a mystery. He really wanted to meet RJ Spear.
"Of course. He is the star RJ of our radio station. How can he not come to the party?" San was satisfied with Mihit's excited look. "So, are you coming?"
"Of course!"
