The next day starts with the careers finding the girl from 6, Dante finishing what his district partner started. The rest of the third day is almost eventless, other than Acacius and I almost drinking the poisonous water like the girl from 7 and the boy from 3. It shows us finding the cave before falling asleep. My past self is then shown getting the water that saves our lives.

The fourth day starts with Acacius jumping awake. He stumbles a bit as he stands, mumbling to himself about finding water. The cameras show him staggering out of the cave and through the forest. It switches to Dagan doing the same, more alert with his weapon ready. He seems to spot my bother as Acacius makes it to the clearing, swaying a bit with no supplies.

Dagan rushes him, letting out a battle cry. It seems to knock Acacius out of whatever fog he was in, his body jumping to the side to avoid a hit. Dagan swings again, barely clipping my brother's side. Acacius recovers fast, tackling Dagan to the ground before ripping the weapon from his grip. The camera shows my brother raise the machete before plunging it into the other boy's chest.

The recap continues with me dressing my brother wounds after hauling him back to our temporary sanctuary. I look down as my past self nurses his wound, the sounds of our voices filling the Capitol and no doubt the districts as well.

I look back up as my past self leaves the cave. The camera shows the careers coming up on the clearing with the watering hole, bickering about the kill from the previous night. The camera shows myself seeing them before disappearing back towards the cave unnoticed.

The careers continue at a slow pace, noticing the trail and the weapons we left behind. The camera shows us running as fast as we could, Acacius's arm draped over my shoulders. It shows us almost tripping before having to stop completely because of Acacius's wounds.

I try my best to sit through our little argument, memories flashing in my mind. The audience laughs, finding it hilarious apparently. I almost exhale as the camera switches to Ivette and Lincoln walking through the woods. They stay close to the stream Acacius and I found that same day.

Apparently we weren't the only two fighting, the two from 5 bickering about everything from the lack of weapons to the lack of food. The scene ends with the butterflies showing up, appearing innocent and harmless Lincoln seems to have fallen for the same trick as I did, his hand reaching up to catch one of the dark red monarchs.

He screams, clutching his hand before falling down. Ivette immediately runs, leaving him behind as the butterflies surround them. He manages to get up and start to run right as the camera switches to show Acacius and I finding the river and experiencing the same mutt. It shows us running before deciding to stop and pull out a tarp. The camera shows us hiding under the fabric before switching towards the careers.

They take cover in the cornucopia, using supplies to block the small, unthreatening bugs from getting in. They seem to succeed until one gets in and stings Augustus. He curses before catching and crushing the butterfly with his bare hands.

The crowd laughs once more before the camera switches to Ivette and Lincoln still running through the woods. The girl seems to be getting away, most of the butterflies swarming her district partner as he continues to scream in pain. One lands on her forehead, causing her to scream before brushing it off and running twice as fast.

Lincoln falls to the ground, completely covered with the butterflies. His tan skin is unseen, every inch of him infested with the red insects. With in seconds, a cannon sounds. The butterflies fly away, leaving all of us at once. It shows Ivette falling to the ground to catch her breath, looking behind her for Lincoln.

The careers are shown leaving the cornucopia, anger on all of their faces as they lose another kill to the games. They head for the treeline, weapons ready and glares strong. Next it shows Acacius and I gathering our fallen supplies before continuing through the woods.
