So, a recent crossover between Legendary and DC comics had the Justice League fight Godzilla and Kong. This image has currently made the entire internet shit itself.

If you're a power scaler, then you know that Godzilla is now stupidly powerful if he was able to beat Superman of all people

If you're a power scaler, then you know that Godzilla is now stupidly powerful if he was able to beat Superman of all people.

But...listen guys

Comics are a wide world of different author interpretations and power scaling. It's the reason why Batman is able to beat the Justice League so many times, it's because the writers give their own reasonings for it. Same goes for Deadpool killing the Marvel universe or Spiderman beating up other characters because he "stops holding back." While the reasonings can be fucking stupid and make no sense, they're still reasonings.

That goes for Superman especially. There are multiple different versions of Superman, from the Golden Age, Prime One Million, Cosmic Armor, each holding their own different levels of power. Godzilla is similar in this regard. It is very easy to see the different levels of power from the four different eras. You wouldn't look at the original 1954 Godzilla and say he's the same as Legendary Godzilla, who blew a hole into the center of the earth. That's the same thing that's going on with this comic. This version of Godzilla was written to be stronger than this version of Superman. You put Godzilla against another version of Superman who, let's just say can punch a planet apart, he's gonna lose badly.

The biggest take away from this is simple. Don't complain about power scaling because your favorite character didn't win. Complain about the power scaling if the story is poorly written.

People don't complain about this because the comic was written well.

People complain about this because this comic was written like shit with biased writers
