3rd person P.O.V
"Take care, and let me know how the new technique helps, okay?" Jane states softly before closing the door to her patient. Her feet tread back to the desk at the corner of the room, sitting down and glancing at the new patient I.D that should be arriving in the next ten minutes. Rubbing her eyes, Jane closes the tab before pulling her phone to answer the incoming call from her husband. "Yeah, baby" Jane greets in a croaked voice, "no, there is food in the freezer that I made for her, just heat it up" Jane voices as she spins the pen that is laying innocently on the wooden table. "I'm not annoyed, I'm just tired, sweetie, I'll be home soon." she argues as she tosses the pen away from her slightly. She still hasn't told George about the book signing encounter with the devil. Having another person panicking really wouldn't help the stress she is dealing with already. At least being a psychologist helped distract her from her own mess. Jane follows her husband goodbyes on the phone before ending the phone at the sound of a gentle knock on the door.
"Come in" Jane calls out, assuming it is one of her coworkers needing a favor of some sort. Her eyes remain glued to her phone as the door creaks open.
"Is this how you greet your other clients?" Her voice snaps. Jane's eyes are pulled off her phone to face Carmilla sitting on the armrest of the couch, her arms crossed over the other with a sly smile.
Jane jolts up, grabbing the gun hidden in the gap between the desk and drawers. "Don't move" Jane threatens as she points the gun at Carmilla, her fingers sheepishly trembling at the weight of the pistol. Carmilla lets a little chuckle slip out as she stands up. "I said, don't move!" Jane shouts, aiming to intimidate Carmilla into stopping.
Carmilla puts her arms up in surrender as she keeps her stead towards Jane. "Put the gun down, pretty, you're gonna end up getting hurt" Carmilla orders with a little warning. Jane's eyes sharpen as she keeps the gun in the air, trying to remain firm on her defense.
"Get any closer and I'll shoot, I'm not afraid to use it!" Jane exclaimed loudly, repeating what Richard told her to say in this situation. Carmilla ignores her warnings as she turns her body around the desk, aiming her head against the gun in Jane's hand.
With Jane's gun connected to her forehead, she watches Jane furrow her brows in frustration. "Do it" Carmilla states calmly, "Kill me, I know you want to" she continues, her eyes scanning Jane's battling expression. "Fucking do it, jane! You already tried it once, do it again!" Carmilla grits in anger, testing to see if she would actually do it.
Jane flinches at the rise of volume in Carmilla's voice, contradicting her calm voice she had only a moment ago. Carmilla's hand swiftly raises over the gun, grabbing it into her palm. Before Jane could react, Carmilla flips the pistol and aims it at Jane's head. "Never let your guard down" she explicates sternly while digging the vintage pistol into Jane's skin.
Jane freezes in terror. Carmilla's face blurs behind the gun that's taking the main focus in her vision. The memories mirroring this exact scene makes Jane's spine clench in a shiver, being at the brink of death was now becoming a routine in her life. Before jane could beg for forgiveness, Carmilla lowers the gun, satisfied with her torture. Her smirk says it all. Carmilla spins the gun around in her hand to analyze it, "where did you get this?" she inquires as she admires the revolving cylinder at the barrel of the gun.
"Someone I know gave this to me" Jane speaks up, adjusting herself to face Carmilla.
Carmilla lets out a little sneer, astounded by Jane's lack of knowledge about a revolver. "Why would you get something like this? There's no safety," Carmilla scolds, disappointed by her lack of research. "You could have really hurt yourself, or worse; killed someone. You need to be careful" she tuts as she takes the gun that is hidden behind her jacket and replaces it with the revolver. "Here, take this one. It has a safety so you won't find Adeline dead on the floor because she touched it," Carmilla states, her arms stretched to pass Jane the semi-automatic handgun in her hand with an enigmatic smile. The mention of her daughter's name sends shivers down Jane's spine, confirming her worst fear that Carmilla knew all about her. She probably knows every single person Jane's in contact with.
