Carmilla P.O.V
1 week later
Placing my glass onto the marble counter, I glance over to Jane laying in bed, her bare skin looks so kissable from where I stood, glowing ever so beautifully under the sun beaming through the window. Treading towards her in a quiet manner, I planted a kiss on her forehead before grabbing my keys off the bedside table. I could get used to her sleeping so peacefully in my bed, away from harm's reach, just mine to love and protect, cherish her soul until the end of time.
"Where are you going?" Jane mumbles as I place my hand on the bedroom door handle, ready to go fix the issue she caused. I shift my body to look at her through my periphery, her hand rubbing her tired eyes as she sits up slowly, resting her body on one arm.
"I've got some work to do, I'll be back soon and then you can head back home to see Adeline," I explained, my feigned expression hiding the dread of her leaving. The reality of her having a home without me, a life, a family, made my stomach churn in a way I've never felt before. Her eager smile only solidified my fear of being left behind once again, after all, I am only the woman that took her, he chose her, and she chose him. I can never be her true love.
"Thank you, Carmilla" she states, bursting my bubble of thought.
"For what?" I ask, confused by her sudden gratitude. Her features wrinkle slightly as she smiles at my perplexed expression.
"Thank you, for letting me leave," she replies.
Her gratification somehow makes me feel uneasy, 'thank you for letting me leave' like I'm a vicious monster, an animal, as if I'm sparing her life by allowing her to walk out unharmed. Just last night she laid on my chest, at peace, and now she is a victim? I let out an acknowledging smile before turning my attention back to the door, leaving in silence. Locking the door behind me, I make my way downstairs. I fixed everything already, all I need to do is have a little chat with George.

Watching him massage the bridge of his nose in distress, desperately trying to focus on his work makes me feel satisfied but yet angry. Angry that he cares so much, angry that he can't focus when Jane is missing. Angry that I can't tell Jane he isn't worth it. Grabbing a seat from the office nearby, I pull it towards his little cubicle, sitting down as he raises his eyes. "Nice to meet you, George" I say with a welcoming grin, my expression completely opposing his wide eyed terror.
His eyes quickly narrowed as he stood up to charge for me, grabbing my coat collar as he seethed down at me. "Where is my wife?!" he exclaimed, his mouth practically drooling in rage. I lift my arms in surrender, his face closing in on mine, frustrated that my expression remained unfazed.
"Ooo so strong" I taunt as he growls for an answer. The urge to see his face once I told him that Jane is in my bed sounded so alluring, but that would mean losing Jane, she would never forgive me for ruining what they had- have. "Your wife is safe" I state gently, "I promise you, she is well taken care of" I assure once his grip loosens slowly.
I wait in silence until he lets go of me completely, brushing myself off as he stands back. "Sit down, I came here to talk" I motion to his chair, tilting my head down in a single nod to torment him a little more.
Hesitantly, he backs away and sits down on his chair, his arms placed on the table, presumably to pounce once again if needed. "What do you want?" he inquires in a huff, his lips raised in disgust at my neck.
If only he knew his wife did that. "I need you to get your little friend, what was his name again? Henry... uh, oh yes, Henry Callahan" I state as I stand up to explore his office. "He needs to drop this new obsession of trying to find me, and since you seem so close, I want you to do it, of course in exchange for your wife" I bartered.
