"But-""You can leave," Val replies dismissing Cherry, but his eyes burn into mine. "I'll drop her." The weight of his words hung in the air.
I. Am. Fucked.
Cherry gives me one questioning and corned look. I slowly nod, and she turns around. Without uttering a word, Cherry turns and leaves through the door, the click of it closing echoing in the room.
"Don't I get a bye?"
"Yeah, I forgot to say goodbye." Spinning on my heels, turning to face him. My hands folded on my chest.
I'm only greeted with a chuckle of his. Damn, that.
"What do you want, Val?"
He hums pretending to think, stepping closer. His boots echoed against the polished white marble as if the air was holding its breath. I was forced to stand my ground, not daring to step back.
"I like the sound of my name on your lips." Those haunting eyes gleamed.
A pause.
The silence hangs between us as the air around me tenses.
"Is Val your actual name?"
Another step. Another hum.
"Or is it short for something?" I ask again, raising an eyebrow.
He's taking a step closer and closer to me with each of my words. I hesitantly take a step back but instantly curse myself. The echo of his footsteps mixed with mine. One more step and I'll be trapped in-between the wall and his big frame. The memory of last night adds another layer to the tense air.
"Please step back," I whispered, my breath picking up.
"I like the sound of my name on your lips," Val says back in a hushed tone as he pushes me into the wall, caging me in one smooth move. Just like last night. He wraps his hands around both my wrists trapping them above my head. The air from my lung is sucked out as my heart starts pounding.
"How old are you, Zara?" His hot breath tickled near my ear.
I blink. "Twenty."
A cry escapes my mouth when he bites down on my earlobe, "Don't lie to me."
"Eighteen."
"Fuck." He grunted as his teeth clamped down on the side of my neck. He was licking, biting and kissing the skin so harshly. My mind goes insane as he continues with the pattern over and over again—a string of moans released from me as I thrash around in his grip.
It was as if a switch went off in my brain and my hands were itching to touch him. I wanted to feel his rough and big muscles underneath my fingers, he felt so warm and I wanted to feel him above me. What was wrong with me? I've never felt this way with anyone. I slightly wince when he tightens the grip around my wrists, to stop me from escaping.
