Chapter 26: The One To Lead You Home

(One and a Half Years Later)

"Paano nga pala naging Sky ang nickname mo?"

Sage asked her boyfriend out of the blue. Nakakunot ang noo habang nakatitig sa laptop niya.

The couple was finishing their deliverables for the day. Even without eye contact or a touch of their hands, they could easily understand each other when conversing. Parang nababasa nila ang iniisip ng isa't isa.

Following that episode in the hospital over a year ago, that's only when Sage learned about Sky's retrograde amnesia, which he was diagnosed with after that accident involving him and his father several years ago. Fortunately, no further episodes occurred since then. While it's uncertain whether Sky has fully recovered from his condition, at the very least, Sage is now aware of it and will surely help him in the event an episode occurs again.

She chuckled nervously. "Sorry, I should have asked you that ages ago, palagi ko lang nakakalimutan."

Sky chuckled back. "No biggie. I was actually waiting for you to ask that. Now, to answer your question, S-K-Y is actually my initials, if you noticed."

"Hala! Oo nga no!" Her eyes widened in realization, and laughed at how she learned it just now. "So kailan mo ginamit ang initials mo as your nickname?"

"It started halfway in junior high. One of my classmates suggested it, and I thought it was cool. At least yung mga taong close sa akin ang pwede lang tumawag sa akin ng Kairos."

Then he turned his swivel chair towards her and took her hand, making her turn to him as well. "But... you are an exception, Love. I'm letting you call me by either nickname..."

"Or I will call you by your full name if you screw things up." Sage's voice sent some warning despite her curled-up lips.

Sky didn't budge at her little threat and kissed her hand instead. "Of course, feel free, although I highly doubt if that will happen at all. Mabait naman ako na boyfriend, diba?"

She grinned sweetly. "That you are!"

Today is one of the rare times Sky and Sage get to work peacefully, yung tipong nasa workstations lang sila at hindi aligaga o di kaya'y nasa field.

Project YxL, the joint venture of Yvasco Empire and Lucas Incorporated, involves real estate. This is one of the former's fields of expertise, while the latter wanted to penetrate the said industry for quite a while now. Thus their partnership was formed. After careful planning for almost a year, the project finally took off. It's been several months since its launch and the project has been doing well.

Because of the project's massive success, Josephus Yvasco promoted his firstborn, Sebastian Kairos, as the COO of the Yvasco Empire, which the latter didn't expect at all. Akala niya ay hindi na ibibigay sa kanya ang position na yun dahil sa nangyari sa kanya ilang taon na ang lumipas. It dawned on him that he had finally gained back his father's trust. It doesn't matter since when. All he had to do was to take care of that trust as much as he could.

On the other hand, Gabriel Lucas also promoted his first daughter, Savannah Gabrielle, as the new COO of Lucas Incorporated. Eventually, she will take over when her father steps down. While it may take a while for that to take place, Sage knew there was still so much to learn being the COO on top of the few projects she spearheaded. If anything, masaya siya sa mga naging achievement niya.

With Project YxL finally in full swing, Sky and Sage finally found time to travel together. Nilibot nila ang mga lugar sa Pilipinas na hindi pa nila napupuntahan. May mga pagkakataon din na sumama sa kanila ang mga pamilya nila. Wala namang reklamo dun ang magkasintahan, dahil masaya din silang kasama sa mga byahe nila.
