"Everything okay, Ate Sage?"
I looked up and saw my cousin, Ryusei Paul Gonzales, at the doorway to my room. I was sitting on my bed, resting after sorting my stuff on the shelf.
My lips curled up as I nodded. "Yes, all good. Thanks, Ryusei."
"Alright. Kain na tayo sa baba. We ordered lunch."
"Nice! Gutom na rin ako eh." I chuckled as I stepped out of my room. "How about for dinner tonight? Gusto niyo ipagluto ko kayo?"
"Uy, good idea yan, Ate!" My cousin beamed. "Turuan mo na rin kami ni Takumi. Para marunong kaming magluto kapag busy ka."
"Sure." I happily obliged.
I have settled in my new place one week after my arrival in San Francisco. Fortunately, hindi ako nag-iisa na nakatira dito sa apartment dahil kasama ko ang dalawang pinsan ko, sila Ryusei at Takumi Von. This three-bedroom apartment was just a walking distance from the university where I would be taking up my MBA. It also happened that Ryusei and Takumi are both in college and attending the same university.
San Francisco is not an entirely new place to me. This is one of the three cities in the US that I go to often. The other two were Los Angeles and New York. That's why it's easy for me to navigate the city. Kabisado ko na rin ang pag-commute dito. Kaya akala ko ay magiging maayos ang pag-stay ko dito sa San Francisco dahil alam ko na ang mga pasikot-sikot, pero nagkamali ako.
